Guest guest
Very true angie, about 90% ghosts attacks are either mental disorders or other things, like those who do not know about OBE, the first symptom of OBE where body becomes numb and one wants to cry or speak or move, but unable to do it, can be thought as Ghost attack. We should keep one thing in mind that dead persons are in no way stronger than living persons. Ghosts may possess only those minds which are of weak/disturbed state or have very weak will power and weak emotions or are attracted emotionally towards the dead. If one is strong willed, one can not only be saved from attacks but will also be able to communicate with them understand them and will try to help them, as the main purpose of departed souls coming into our contact is that they need help. As per Garuda Purana and other scriptures there are main three Gatis (Movements) of the spirit. Sadgati - where the departed soul (here soul signifies soul encircled with causal and astral body not the soul in technical terms) due to its good karma goes on higher astral planes and finally comes back on earth plane with higher spiritual energies or even goes up for Moksha. Adhogati - those beings who induldged in sins go down the astral levels and finally come back to earth in lower species or men with lower spiritual energies. AGATI _ No movement is where departed soul does not go to any astral plane and is stuck up in a loop of time space conitnuum. In old days there was a demon called Gayasur. He worshipped Shiva and got a boon that anybody visiting him and seeing his face would get Moksha. His boon disturbed the equilibrium of universe and Lord Vishnu decided to kill him. When Vishnu reached him and told him that he would be killed as he was disturbing the law of nature. Gayasur worshipped Vishnu and said," Yes i know that many people have got Moksha due to me, though they did not deserve it but I am little worried about those souls who are in Agati. so bless me who so ever does Pinda daan at this place where i will die, the concerned soul will at least come out of Agati and will move forward towards Adhogati or sadgati because being in Agti is really harmful for a soul, let the soul be punished or rewarded but it shud move. He was granted this boon and was killed. The place in Gaya Bihar state of India is still very popular for pinda daan for those who die without proper rituals. It is said that even Pinda daan by non-relatives does wonders for the departed soul. In Pinda daan a ball of some cereals is offered to the departed soul with some rituals and mantras. Guest guest
Does that mean we retain all the memories of this birth after death? Then why we dont remember our previous birth now? where and when memory of last birth is lost laxman
Guest guest
I was under the impression that the soul remembers its life after the physical death. From what I have read the soul spends some time in the astral regions, regions of low or high vibrational frequency depending on how gross or subtle the persons astral body is. That means that if it has too many desires (astral is the body of emotions and desires) then it has to remain in lower regions until it gets purified and can be naturally attracted to higher regions.(If a person has too many physical desires stored in its astral body, then it goes through that what we call hell, which is nothing else than the torturing inability to satisfy these desires since it has no physical body.) It also seems that the souls after death are much more happier than when they were on earth, because they experience a supreme freedom in the higher astral. I am under the impression (again), that the astral body dies too before the soul enters a state of oblivion before being reincarnated. Others say that the soul in the womb, stil remembers its past life, and forgets only when it gets birth. I guess the only way to find out is... to die while living ;-) and then get back to earth. And if you do please do stop by and report what you saw . Just kidding. Namaste!
Guest guest
hmmmm very difficult question indeed. There are many logics behind loss of memory after new birth. But we can not say for sure that memory is lost. It may go beyond realms of Conscious mind but lying latent in our sub-soncsious otherwise how can we explain some people suddenly remembering their past births by accident or by hipnotism or in the state of lower samadhis or even in dreams. I agree with angie as far as she has explained the process of soul going through different astral world and shedding bodies. One thing is sure that the memories of this birth are changed into subtle resultant waves called sanskaras and the gross memory is kept in universal Chitta. Let us see what others say Hari aum
