Guest guest
thanks satish. We have to further share our thoughts on this. I agree with you that divine code is quite different from our penal code, but what i meant to ask was "If the prayer of a person who is asking for spreading negativity also listened" We see this in todays life, where even terrorists pray "their" god for helping in their terror activities and in most of the cases they succeed. So we have to find out if prayer is listened by the Almighty not for the well-being of humans and it depends upon the strong will power of the praying person, and Nature is forced to fulfil his desire, be it even harmful for mankind? Or there is some other explanation to this. "YES ! WHY AFFRAID OF DWAITA ?" the question is not being afraid of any thing. But when we pray do we not negate the highest philosophy of hinduism, i.e. Adwaita ? If that is the case, no prayer would be necessary. But we all have to start from dwaita and reach adwaita hence prayer can be used by a beginner of sadhna not by an advanced one. TRUE ??? What about a prayer where we do not ask from God anything. NO words are uttered but we fold our hands and be thankful to Him for all we have got. Can this be called a prayer ? nachiketa
Guest guest
Most of our prayers are for material gains and in some cases our prayers are replied and we get fruitful results. But is it not our own good karma of the past which give us results. What prayer and god have to do in such cases ? pradeep

Prayer is a way of producing good karma, just as mantra chanting is a way to nullify the effect of bad karma or create good one. I know this sounds very gross and primitive as a theory, and its definetely a lot more complicated depending on the case of each individual. However, I believe that this is one of the basic principles of karma. In the end it is not God that replies our prayers. Through our prayers we create the right karmic pattern to attract to ourself what we desire. Most of the times, its more useful not to know the actual mechanism of the prayer, because this mechanism might reduce the amount of faith a devotee has, when praying to a personal god. If we develop deep understanding about it though, it can be even more effective than traditional prayer. The power of the mind is unfathomable, it is a mystery. The wonders that a concentrated and focused mind can achieve might be beyond our capability of understanding. Its astonishing what mere thoughts can bring forth.. However, these are open and free for any person to experiment with, through meditation, prayer and mental control. namaste
