Guest guest
Let us begin our Prayer circle activities with - Prayers for World Peace TIME - 10 pm YOUR local time OR use this site http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedform.html to calculate your equivalent of 10pm central US time. If neither time suits you please pick your time that is convenient for you. PRAYERS - Clk Files on home page - Pick any that you wish. If you wish to use a different prayer please do so and share the prayer with us. If you email to me, I will add it to the Peace prayer List. Recite it as many times as you wish. Please keep a running count of how many times you have recited it. As Satish as brought it to our notice, the number of times a prayer is chanted makes a diference, so let us aim for 108 times per person. As we know it is very important to have the right attitude of faith when you perform this exercise, so for the doubters among us, place the doubts on the back burner at least while you do this. Please let us know when you have completed 108 times. All members are requested to join us in this endeavor. If possible get a friend to join you too. _/\_ Tat twam asi May Peace be with you all Uma - Peace Prayers - Sanatan Dharma Prthivee Shaantih Antariksham Shaantih Dyaush shaantih Dishash shaantih Avaantara dishaash shaantih Agnish shaantih Vaayush shaantih Aadityash shaantih Chandramaash shaantihi . Guest guest
Dear Uma, I would also like to suggest "Lokah Samastha Sukino Bhavantu" for the prayer circle. It is shorter and probably easier for western tongues to grasp. I think a prayer circle is a fantastic idea, but my commitment level has dwindled in the past few months, seeing as I am bogged down with the daily grind of this life. If we all choose 10pm our local times, will it have the same effect? Guest guest
Dear Erica Ideally, the maximum power is generated by a group saying the same prayer, at the same time, for a certain given number of times eg 108 times, with an attitude of sincerity and faith in the process. Since we don't have ideal conditions here we need to make some compromises. As we are across several different time zones, when it is night time here it is broad daylight across the globe and people are headed to work. I'm not sure whether they will be able to sit and focus on meditating. On the other hand, the advantage of having participants from different time zones is that there is someone praying in a different time zone all through the day .. almost like collectively having prayers round the clock. Our 10 pm is 11pm, 12am, 1am and so on as one moves across the globe. That is why I suggested this method so that we can work around the less than ideal situation and instead, use its strength. You can certainly use the prayer you have suggested. Keep a count of the number of times you are saying the prayer. What is really important is the bhava (attitude) of a sincere desire for the goal. Whatever prayer is used one needs to be confortable with it and said with sincerity. Daily grind tends to brings us all down when we are focused on it. Taking the time away from worrying about that and focusing light on others often seems to help. _/\_ Tat twam asi Uma , "Erica" <sugarandbrine> wrote: > Dear Uma, > > I would also like to suggest "Lokah Samastha Sukino Bhavantu" for >the prayer circle.
