Guest guest
Each one of us must create the habit of staying alert in yoga. Please do not underestimate the seriousness of this! Sometimes people say they are physically tired, it is because of their health etc etc that they are sleepy but the reality is there is no excuse for being drowsy in yoga. My state of alertness at the time of yoga is related to what is happening to me internally. If internally I am unhappy, discontent, tired or under an influence - this is the real reason for being drowsy. So understand these sanskars and change them. Please do not take this work lightly. No matter how beautiful and advanced a toy might be if it doesn't have a battery in it - it is of no use. This is why I need to have that attention on yoga. My battery has to be charged. It is true that we often experience God's love and we feel intoxicated by our fortune but that is like experiencing fruit. We do service and so of course God will give us the fruit of love. However, it is one thing to experience fruit (ful) and another to experience power (bul). I need power - the personal power that comes from yoga. When thoughts of disheartenment, thoughts such as "What God wants from us is actually too high a destination. Will I really be able to dothis?" start to come, be alert enough not allow them to continue. Even if you don't feel up to it, get up and do something; make yourself share knowledgewith someone. As you do so, your track of thinking will change. Otherwise we develop the habit of dwelling on things. We then end up drowning in our own thoughts. There is subtle machinery at work behind the tendency of getting upset. So, please be alert! If you become upset for any reason, you are invoking some another situationto come and carry you away. Some ask: How can I fulfill "my responsibility" whilst not getting caught up in the consciousness of "I"? In fact, my only real responsibility is to finish all the subtle traces of "I". If I don't take this responsibility on board, then I will not experience success in fulfilling my other responsibilities. Let me go deep inside and experience how "I the soul am a Child of the Supreme Soul", "Whilst sitting in this body, I the soul am being taught by the Supreme Soul." Let me consider it my responsibility to stay beneath God's canopy of protection. If I do this, then whoever comes in front of me, will feel that aura. They will step beneath God's canopy too. They will feel protected in my presence. Where I set foot others should experience this. I just need to learn not to think too much about anything. Let me not to get too obsessive or literal about things, whether it is my own health or service. Let me not get into a space of feeling things are not in my hands because this will make me nervous. Let no thought make you wilt. Let no situation make you shake.
