Guest guest
Namaste. It seems that the power of Time and Destiny is insurmountable, even for the great devotees of God! aho vidhAtas tava na kvacid dayA saMyojya maitryA praNayena dehinaH tAMz cAkRtArthAn viyunaGkSy apArthakaM vikrIDitaM te `rbhaka-ceSTitaM yathA - Srimad Bhagavatam 10.39.19 The gopis blame Providence for their separation from Lord Krishna in the following words: O Master of destiny, you never seem to possess any kindness! You bring embodied souls together through love and friendship, but while their goals and wishes are being fulfilled, you commit the mistake of separating them. Your playful actions are like the foolish pranks of a little child. "kAlAya tasmai namaH !" I will share the song of a Gopi lamenting in separation after Lord Krishna had left for Mathura. "Sakhi! Sunu, samaya hotha balavan! yeka dina Hari hamahi manavatha, houm bitathi kari maan, AAju manavatha praan jaatha pai, Kanha karatha na kaan, yeka dina Hari mohi binu pala chhinu rahi na sakatha thala aan, aaju vikala hum palapala talaphatha, thajatha na Kubjaa dhyaan. yeka dina Hari khilauna, sunathi chhaach dai taan, aaju Kripalu bhaye Hari doobhar, guular phool samaan!" -'Viraha Madhuri' of 'Prema Rasa Madira' Jagadguru Sri Kripaluji Maharaj Oh, my dear friend ! Time and Destiny are immensely powerful. Otherwise, why are we cast away in the hell of separation from our Lord? On that lucky day, we were bickering at and teasing our dear Beloved for no reason at all. We were enjoying His loving association though pretending to be angry at His pranks. Then Lord Hari used to pacify us in so many ways, just to make us feel very special and blessed. Now, look, what fate has brought us to! Today, we have to beg the lifebreath, not to leave our bodies, so that we may be at least alive to keep ourselves waiting for the vision of our Beloved. But still, our desparate cries are not even able to reach the ears of the Lord of Mathura (Krishna). On those fortunate days, our Sweetheart could not stay away from us at any place. Not finding any delight without our company, He used to be restless to play with us all the time. Alas! What a contrary state the fate has brought ! Though we are endlessly suffering in His absence, remembering Him every moment, Lord Hari is now fascinated Himself with Kubja of Mathura (the hunchback courtesan) and cann't leave her company, even for a moment for our sake. On those blessed days we had the oppurtunity to make the Lord as a puppet in our hands with our Love and made Him dance to our tunes. Just tempting Him with our insignificant curds and butter, we controlled Him. Alas! See what Destiny has ordained us now! Our dear most Lord has become so distant to us and even His blessed vision (darshan) has become utterly impossible, just like the flowers of 'goolar' tree! (This particular tropical tree's blossoms are un-noticeable and very difficult to recognize since their fruits appear immediately) He totally disappeared from our sight, for the rest of our lives! The Rasik-Saint-Poet, in the words of a Gopi, says, "Who can understand the power of Time and the strength of Destiny!!" -------------- More excerpts of Prema Rasa Madira in Hindi at: http://www.jkp.org/literature/prem_ras_madira_excerpts.html Jai Sri Radhey!
