Guest guest
Namaskaaram, A pious devotee of Lord Muruga is looking into selling his Alavu kavadi which is quite new. It is in mint condition and used only once this year 2005. It was made in Jan 2005 by very experienced craftsmen who have come from a generation who have been practicing this art of designing and making kavadis. The kavadi is designed in Harigandam style and it is quite light. Therefore, this kavadi can be used as a Harigandam kavadi if the devotee chooses to. It looks very nice. The cost of making the kava is approximately $3000. The buyer is willing to allow the purchaser to check with the designers if he wants to confirm the pricing. The specification is as follows: 1) Three decks in height 2) First deck – 12 Vynayagar (paka kavadi) 3) Second deck- 10 Murugan (Paka Kavadi) 4) Third deck- Pure Silver Medium size Gopuram for picture or statue. 5) Paka Kavadi : All dot punched and gold plated decorated with colourful beads and kunjam. Therefore, inclusive of the top gopuram on the third deck, there is a total of 21 paka kavadi. 6) 108 spikes – 2 sets (216 spikes) 7) Spike's end piece(Ayutham) - 90 Vel and 90 Sulam gold plated (to be screwed on to the spike) 8) Eightu pattai- It is brand new as I got the designers to change to new one as the earlier one was light and shaky. 9) Thombei- 12 colourful hand stitched thombei for decoration 10) Front piece – 04 Dot punch of Sri Muneeswaran with tiruvatchi 11) All design plates for three decks This kavadi has been well taken care of. It is very easy to assemble and disassemble which can be done in less than half an hour by one person. The person who carried the kavadi is a very pious person and therefore proper prayers has been done for the kavadi. All rods and screws and nuts will come together as a set. It's a matter of fixing up and carrying. It is all ready! Selling price: $2700. (Negotiable) Reason for selling: Owner is migrating and therefore has no choice but to sell. Owner only wants to sell to genuine devotee for sentimental reasons. Email: veerabatharan or Prakash_otharam if interested. Hara OM
