It is said once Shiva became angry with Parvati and wanted to

leave. Parvati to stop shiva from leaving manifested herself into

10 forms and surrounded Shiva from all sides. These 10 forms of

Parvati are called 10 Mahavidyas.

Shiva surrounded by and enjoying/suffering due to these Mahavidyas

is called "Jiva" and the Jiva who wins over these Mahavidyas is

called "Shiva"

Dhumavati is the seventh Mahavidyas. She is also called Jyeshthha

(elder), Widow, Kulakshmi etc. All the Mahavidyas have their

respective Shiva(centre of consciousness), but Dhumavati is the only

shakti who is without any Shiva hence called Widow.

There are for causes of sufferings/pains for us…Rudra, Yama, Varuna,

Niaritti. All types of fevers, viruses, mass deaths , destruction

by fire are caused by RUDRA

Coma, Death, cutting of organs etc. are caused by Yama.

Arthiritis, asthma, pains in body, numbing of organs are caused by

Varuna.

All types of griefs, Kaaleshas, poverty, widowhood, death of

children are caused by DHUMAVATI.

Beggers, prostitutes, deserted land, naked mountains (without

greenery) deserted Buildings, torn and old clothes, hunger, thirst,

weeping, are her manifestations.

That z why DHUMAVATI is also called Daridra, Kulakshi and Nayaritti.

As per Shakta pramod (Dhumavati Tantra), she is worshipped with

following Dhyana :-

Vivarna Chnchala, Dushta, dirgho cha malinambra

Vimuktakuntla vais ah vidhwa viral dwija

Kakdhwajratharudha vilambit pyodhra

Shurp-hastatruksha dhut hasta varanana

Etc..

She is having fierce face, square teeth, dry skin and hanging

breasts. Her skin color is pale and she is on the chariot driven by

crow….

Her abode is Jyeshthaa Nakshtra from where she sends her negative

energies towards earth during the months of June-September. That z

why no good work, like marriage, purchase of house and any new work

is done during these months.

The negativity abosorbed by earth during these four months is

distributed to human beings during the year. A day before Diwali,

the Jyeshthha Nakshtra sets and Rohini Nakshtra rises.

This day is the last day of DHUMAVATI and is celebrated as Narak

Cahaturdashi in India…. We bade DHUMAVATI and welcome Rohini

(Lakshami, Kamala –the 10th Mahavidya) on Diwali by lighting and

fire-works, symbolically bringing light into the negativity.

Hence Diwali is a Tantrik festival, celebrated long before Lord

Rama. Rama selected this day specially to come back to Ayodhya to

make Lakshmi the main point for his kingdom.

Now who would worship, a dreaded, ugly and cause of sufferings and

pains? People suffer from DHUMAVATI and are afraid of her.

BUT as she is a manifestation of Mother Kali, she has a tender heart

of a mother too….she causes sufferings to her children to purge them

of their sins and become pure to progress in sadhna.

She become happy with a little sadhna, as her devotees are lesser in

numbers, but any one who pleases her gets a boon " I will not come

to you or your children " which means we and our children will not

suffer due to her.

The only known temple of DHUMAVATI in the north India is Jwalamukhi

Temple in Himachal Pradesh. No tantrik ever becomes perfect without

visiting this temple and getting a boon from mother DHUMAVATI.

Anyone coming to this temple and worshipping her, becomes free from

sins and purged.

Jai Dush Mahavidyas.

With love

Baba
