On the subject of dreams and deeply inspired by the

poems that you so kindly posted on the site, I would

like to post my humble contribution :

 

Kali Ma's Boon

 

In my dream last night, Kali Ma came to me

And said in my ear to my unbridled glee.

"With your devotion pleased I happen to be,

A boon with my love I will gift to thee."

 

I asked her "Dear Mother, What is that boon ?

I am eager and curious, please grant it so soon."

"Of course," She laughed and sang a merry tune,

"Your wishes are granted, you will get the moon."

 

"You will forsake tomorrow and forget the past,

This deep secret is the soul's sweetest repast.

On my form, you will hold your mind steadfast,

Your sorrows will cease, only bliss will last."

 

"Love, patience and compassion will fill your soul,

On you, life's problems cannot take their toll.

Noone can harm you, no being, spirit or ghoul,

You are my favourite, my darling beta anmol."

 

How sweetly She smiled, as She gave Her blessing !

Her dark tresses kept flying as She continued to sing.

She added shortly "Son, just remember one thing,

Continue your bhakti, it is not just a fling."

 

"For you, understanding is the wish-fulfilling cow,

Live not in the past or future, but the eternal NOW.

Your problems will get solved, I will show you just

how,

>From this moment onwards, no frown will trouble your

brow."

 

I thanked her profusely and said "O Mother of mine,

My eyes should always have your vision divine.

Your words and blessings are sweeter than wine,

My heart is yours and my life's every moment thine."
