Guest guest
Hi I just joined the group as I have a deep urge to worship Kali. I was wondering where I should start - what rituals/meditations, and whether there were any teachers or organisations to guide me in this study? Thanks Scott
Guest guest
Maa Khali ! To build a house you need knowladge of arcitecture... I am sure any tom, dick and harry can put few sticks and bricks togather and call it a house. But the main objective is to provide shelter, safety etc... So then you need to learn the art of making a house... So then you look for a person who has build a house and learn. But how do you know that you are learning the right stuff... Then you got to refer to books which learnned people have written abut architecture and the guidelines to compare to what you are learning If the person is worthy then he should be able to explain what is wriiten in the books and relate it to his teachings... What I am trying to say is no matter what puujaa u learn you got to make sure it is following the 'shastras' (guideline of worship) or you will end up lost p/s : There are talk that Kalli puujaa according to the shastras are going to be put up in the group soon.... lets pray to Mother to bless us with this gift
Guest guest
Good advice and yet many yogis live in huts or caves. My point? Even some simple japa is a good way to begin as the mother will guide your steps the more you take. - srihra_m Kali_Ma Wednesday, November 20, 2002 1:51 PM Re: Where to start? Maa Khali ! Guest guest
I could not agree more....acording to Swami Sivananda Maharaj, Japa is the easy way to the relisation of God... Japa has to be done with pure love and devotion (unccondditional love) and the way to cultivate this is by doing Pujaa, Homa, Kirtan etc. I feel trying to separate Puujaa from Japa is like trying to separate Shiva from Parvathi...Any complete Puujaa will have Japa and every Japa needs Puujaa (cultivation of pure unconditional love) To pray to Shiva or Parvathi alone we cannot receive full blessings. Both cannot live without the other.... Mail Plus - Powerful. Affordable. Sign up now. http://mailplus.

Guest guest
30 years ago I was given a VERY simple tantric Sadhana (which I do NOT have permission to share so no one please ask) which only recently, as I hit my 60's do I begin to grok. The sadhana is so simple that for decades my ego had me conned into searching for a "better" one. And I wasted lots of time spiritually shopping. While I can't share that sadhana, I MAY share a simpler one: "Shiva I am." (and therefore Kali too) I'll go off to that list and see what's what; thanks for the heads up. s

Guest guest
Hi Scott, Spiritual shopping sometimes can be good as sometimes different child has different needs thus the need to worship differently. Thus spiritual or soul searching became neccesary as Ma cooks different dishes for different child according to his taste and tempremant but it is still the same mom!!. Her job is to ensure the child is not hungry and contented.................... The esesnce is One, only the perception is different............ However it is wrong to believe only my way is the right way as Bhagawan Ramakrishna would say 4 blind man touching an elephant . The one touching the legs said an elephant is like the pillar ,while the one touching the ears said the elephant is like a big fan and i am sure you could imagine what the one who is touching the body and the trunk would have said !!! His other metaphor is two boys arguing that chameleon is the colour that they perceived. When they approached the wise man under tree he informs them the chameleon is not only the colour that they perceived but even more than that it could change its colour according to its need....... If chameleon could do that, just imagine what Ma is capable of ?? No wonder Sri Ramakrishna says,"God is both with form ,formless and also beyond..............." .Beyond signifying the realm that is unattainable by these five sensory perception.............. If you are not aware of practices outside there than fanatiscm might creep in as well and you might join those who claims that only their watch shows the correct time ........ However we must agree, that when you have seriously decided which path to take , you must not decide to buy same product from other shops again (it's ok to just do window shopping then ...) Changing of product (I mean spiritual path ) once you bought them would not ensure you will be satisfied with the new product unless you have used it to its full potential. In simple words ,it is not a wise move to always change paths........Sri Ramakrishna use to say something to this metaphor ,a man digged 5 feet at the north and did not find anything so he went to south and did the same and again tried at west and failed to find anything. Another person came and dig 7 feet under the ground and found gold all over the place !! The wisdom is not in changing path but to continue in one path consistently and sincerely until the depth is reached She is everywhere and in every path..................Just search for her with all the yearning in your heart and She will come to you !!! So it does not hurt to shop a little, but what if the product is of bad quality ,what if you are tricked in to a scam.In other words how do you know what you have been practicing is in line with what you are searching or do you know what you are searching for first of all or will the path bring you to the results that you want ? This is when shahstras(scriptures) and gurus(master who have taken similar path and have experienced the fruit ) could be of guide . Remember only as guide!!!! No matter how hard they try they would not be able to relate to you (or you would not be able to comprehend it yet) as you need to experience it yourself that is why this science is known as self-realization!! Bhagawan Ramakrishna use to sit with the youths ( later most of them become the Ramakrishna Math sannyasis) who frequent Dakhnieswar temple at that time . Playfully they would ask him to decribe each level of Kundalini Ma rising towards shasra cakra but when he comes to the level of the neck he would loss consciousness and unable to relate those experiences to them . They as eager ,curious youths, will motivate him again but the results will be the same ........... Thus we could see some mystery is kept for each of us to find ourself by Ma and some souls searching is a good step forward Om. p/s: When I mentioned you in this mail it is not meant to address Scott alone but for those who do some searching actually. We must thank Scottji who gave us an oppurtunity to talk on this matter by his joking statement worded "spiritual shopping".Once again thank you Scottji and hoping to see more interesting mail from you in the future (always looking forward to metaphors that you use) ur accroding to its perception......... >"Scott Hutton " >Kali_Ma >Kali_Ma >Subject: Re: Where to start? >Fri, 10 Jan 2003 01:06:19 -0000 > > > >30 years ago I was given a VERY simple tantric Sadhana (which I do >NOT have permission to share so no one please ask) which only >recently, as I hit my 60's do I begin to grok. > >The sadhana is so simple that for decades my ego had me conned into >searching for a "better" one. I wonder if I could do the same. How will I be able to love Kali.I understand that puja is done in order for us to cultivate love for her. But we as human always look for result for everything we do what about her and how sure are we that ahe too don't look for the same result. How do we know that she love us too.How do you find out about what we are doing is the right thing. I am sorry ji, if I am bothering you with my questions. I look forward to hear from you soon.
