Guest guest
One finds Kali in the most unexpected places... In Wagner's opera TRISTAN UND ISOLDE, f'r instance. The references to "eternal night" are legion... At one very pivotal point, Tristan asks Isolde (after they've been discovered DOING IT by King Marke and companions) if she is willing to follow him in to the land of eternal night, from which his Mother brought him forth...she of course says yes and minutes later he throws himself on his attacker's sword and is mortally wounded (though it will take another act and 90 minutes or so for him to cash in the chips). I watch that opera again and again....acquaintances think it's for the gorgeous love-music. And because I've got a few loose screws. Well, I do love that music...but what I don't tell them is that, for me, the opera is all about Shiva and his Dark Shakti...and their inseparability...and all the work's eroticism simply, as it does in day to day life, blinds. Look for a new folder in Photos called "Kalimages". I'll put in one called "Tristan's Land". It's what I'm talkin about here. s
