February 14, 1914: Mr.B.V.Deo was charged by Baba for stealing his rags and after lot of abusing and scolding was favored with instructions to read Dhyaneswari regularly every day as per Deo's desire. ---------------- 2. SAI PHILOSOPHY: SAI PHILOSOPHY FROM THE DIARY OF SAI.BA.NI.SA. These messages are the outcome and essence of the dream sequences of Saibanisa as given by Lord Sainath, which reflect the Sai Philosophy and his high thinking. They carry a sense of deep meaning and are generally thought provoking, enough to set one?s thinking process. 51) 13th April 1996: To think how your last rites will be performed is futile. It will take place according to your deeds both good and bad accounted for. Discriminate between them and follow the path of righteousness. .. 52) 18th April 1996: All of you are meeting today to call yourself as "SAI BANDHUS". I am aware of all your bonds and attachments as I am above all as I am "VISHWABANDHU" (Universal Friend) 53) 19th April 1996: There is absolutely no need to run after religious heads and institutions for the progress in "ADHYATAMA" (Spiritualism). You can get it even from a person living in a hut, practicing and preaching about "GOD". .. 54) 27th April 96: "ARISHADVARGAS" (Six EVILS - KAMA, KRODHA, MOHA, LOBHA, MADHA, MASCHARYA) have entered your body and enslaved you. Drive them away with firmness. 55) 8th May 1996: The flower grown in a flowerpot requires sprinkling of water. In the same way to obtain the sprinkling of divine love, be a SAI devotee and partake in "SAT SANGHS" (SPIRTUAL GATHERING) regularly. SAI IN LETTERS: Madhusudhan Nori, Hyderabad, India nomavi AUM SRI SAIRAM SAI IN LETTERS(Saibanisa's letters to his Son) http://www.saidarbar.org/HTML/ocean_of_mercy/sai3.jpg Translated from the Telugu original into English by Sri Sai Devotee Madhusudan Nori. Secunderabad - 28 February 2000 I request the readers to read first Sri Sai Satcharitra in English by Late Sri Nagesh Vasudev Gunaji, before reading these letters. http://www.geocities.com/seenukv/day-01-thu.htm OM SAI 01 February 1992 Letter 27 (Chapter - 29) Dear Chakrapani, I will elaborate on the experiences of Sri Sai devotees of those days. Sri Hemadri Pant wrote about the arrival of Madras Bhajana Mandali (Group of devotees from Madras singing devotional songs) at Shirdi, singing Bhajans in Sri Sai's presence and their experiences in this chapter. Names of members of that group were not mentioned in this chapter. Some Sri Sai devotees at Madras did research and found out the details about that group. Leader of that Bhajan group was Mr. Govinda Swamy and his wife's name was Mrs. Adi Lakshmi. Sri Govinda Swamy was an employee in a tram company at Madras. People traveled by train, at a great expense, strain and effort to Shirdi in those days. Just think about the significance of those pilgrimages, which should be understood by us. No one could reach Shirdi without the grace of Sri Sai. Last year I went to Bhopal on personal work and was returning by train. I was mentally reciting Sri Sai's name and meditating on HIS form during the journey. The train stopped at a station and started moving again. An old man, about 65 years in age, with Grey beard & hair, well built and wheatish color in complexion came running, boarded the compartment in which I was travelling, without showing any signs of effort made (panting, breathlessness etc.) to board the train and started to look at me with a beautiful smile on his face. Clothes worn by him were of the type worn by college students. This incident recalled to my memory the sequence in Madras Bhajan Mandali episode in which the leader asks Baba - You look old, what is your age? - And Baba's response - Do I appear old, try running with me-and starts running, and I experienced that sequence in this way. Sri Hemadri Pant narrated the divine Leelas of Sri Sai about Tendulkar's education in this chapter. When I recall the help received by you during your EAMCET (Engineering And Medical Common Entrance Test) examination, I believe that Sri Sai did help Tendulkar in his medical examination in those days and this to be true. The way Sri Sai helped Tendulkar's father Sri Raghunatha Rao regarding fixation of pension after his retirement is unforgettable. I trust Sri Sai to ensure that I lead my life, after my retirement* from service, comfortably by ensuring that I receive adequate pension so that I need not seek any financial assistance from any other source. Only time will bear witness to wish of mine. The way Sri Sai saved Captain Jehangir, as narrated in the book Sai Baba the Master written by Sri Ekkirala Bharadwaja, reminds me of the way Sri Hari (Narayana) saves Gajendra (King of Elephants) as narrated in Sri Bhagawatham (one of the Hindu epics). Captain Jehangir was a senior officer in a ship in those days of the First World War. Captain Jehangir prayed earnestly for Sri Sai's help when that ship was sinking in mid ocean. Sri Sai used HIS power from Dwarakamayi and rescued that ship from sinking and thus saved Captain Jehangir. This incident was narrated personally by Captain Jehangir, in Sri Sai's presence, to Sai Bandhus in Dwarakamayi. From this incident we can call Sri Sai as SUPERMAN and no one need be surprised at this description. Sri Sai says in the concluding episode of this chapter -This coin is worth more than 25 Rupees, Shyama take this one Rupee coin and keep it in the safe. These lines bring to my memory the two One Paisa coins (one paisa of those days is equivalent to 2 paise of present days) in our Puja Mandir (Prayer altar). One coin was minted during 1862 and the other coin was minted during 1919. I found these two coins in a container of old coins in our house. Probably Sri Sai's grace and HIS prompting made me keep them in our Prayer Altar; this is my firm belief. I cannot tell anything further on this issue. Remember that Faith is important for anything. With faith in Sri Sai, Your father Sai Ba-Ni-Sa Sri Gopalrao Ravada retired from service on 29 February 2000. Translated from the Telugu Original into English by Sri Sai devotee Madhusudan Nori. Secunderabad. 16 January 2001. ------------ 5. SAIBANISA'S THOUGHTS ON GRUHASTHASRAMA : http://www.saidarbar.org/discourses/2b.jpg Sri Shirdi Saibaba practiced celibacy through out his life. BABA advocated his devotees to follow the traditions of family life in order to achieve social harmony. This alone will help in building a healthy society and usher alround happiness in one's life. Baba wanted his devotees to fulfill their moral and social obligations called for in the materialistic World and then to work towards the ultimate i.e. reaching the God. Incidentally a major portion of Baba's devotees are from those who follow 'Gruhasthasrama' without any hindrance. Saibanisa Gopala Rao Ravada has read a number of Books and literature on this particular topic by different authors and desires to put his ideas before you all. Hence an attempt is made to high light his observations on this subject, aptly titled as ' Saibanisa's thoughts on Gruhasthasrama'. We earnestly hope that our readership will appreciate and encourage our efforts. SPIRITUAL GEMS FROM SAI SATCHARITRA swamy sv : swamyswarna Thursday, February 05, 2004 6:19:23 PM Sai Ram. We shall now continue with the Spiritual Gems from Chapter 9. Number 9 is very significant from the point of numerology. It represents the Highest state a single digit can reach. And thus it represents God in one way. Both 0 and 9 represent God in different ways. We will explore these aspects later, at a more appropriate time. "Devotee's Experiences Now to return to the other more interesting subject. Lord Krishna has said in the Bhagawadgeeta (9-26) "Whosoever devoutly offers to me a leaf, a flower, or a fruit or water, of that pure-hearted man, I accept that pious offering." In the case of Sai Baba, if a devotee really longed to offer anything to Sai Baba, and if he afterwards forgot to offer the same, Baba reminded him, or his friend about the offering, and made him present it to Him, and then accepted it and blessed the devotee. A few instances are given below." Baba always said that He is inside us. So, if any devotee sincerely wanted to offer something to Baba, as externally manifested in Shirdi, the same Baba seated in that devotee's heart ensured that the devotee's desire was fulfilled. "Tarkhad Family (father and son) "Mr. Ramachandra Atmaran alias Babasaheb Tarkhad, formerly a Prarthana-Samajist, was a staunch devotee of Sai Baba. That evening and on Sunday, everything went on well. The following Monday was a working day and it also passed well. Mr. Tarkhad, who had never performed Puja like this in all his life, felt great confidence within himself that every thing was passing on quite satisfactorily according to the promise given to his son. Then he wrote a letter to his son stating the facts and requested him to lay it before Baba's feet and ask His pardon for his neglect. " Sai Ram. When one thinks that one is doing, such incidents are bound to happen. Puja is done for the pleasure of the devotee. So Sraddha is needed. It should be done with heart and soul. Ego makes one forget that one is but an instrument in the hands of God. So, one's actions give either happiness or unhappiness. Mr.Tarkhad thought that he mastered Baba's puja and so allowed his attention to slip, and thus forgot to offer himself, which is represented by the Naivedya. "This happened in Bandra at Tuesday noon. At about the same time, when the noon Arati was just about to commence in Shirdi, Baba said to Mrs. Tarkhad, "Mother, I had been to your house in Bandra, with a view to having something to eat. I found the door locked. I somehow got an entrance inside and found to My regret, that Bhau (Mr. Tarkhad) had left nothing for Me to eat. so I have returned from there without eating anything. The lady could not understand anything; Baba refused the permission, but allowed him to perform Puja there. Then, the son wrote a letter to his father, stating all that took place at Shirdi and implored his father not to neglect the Puja at home. Both these letters crossed each other and were delivered to the respective parties the next day. Is this not astonishing? " Sai Ram. Yes, it is astonishing if one forgets Baba's omniscience and omnipotence. If one remembers these aspects of Baba, there is no need to get astonished. Knowing our forgetfulness, Baba was showing such Leelas to make us remember. "Mrs. Tarkhad Let us now take up the case of Mrs. Tarkhad herself. She offered three things, viz. (1) Bharit (roasted brinjal egg plant mixed curds and spice). (2) Kacharya (circular pieces of brinjal fried in ghee), (3) Peda (sweetmeat ball). Let us see how Baba accepted them." This is another example of Baba's Sarvagnatva, omniscience. "Baba Fed Sumptuously, -- How? Once, Mrs. Tarkhad was staying in a certain house in Shirdi. In the afternoon, when she went to the Masjid and sat at some distance, Sai Baba said to her, "Mother, you have fed Me sumptuously up to my throat, My afflicted pranas (life-forces) have been satisfied. always act like this, and this will stand you in good stead. Sitting in this Masjid I shall never, never speak untruth. Take pity on Me like this. First give bread to the hungry, and then eat yourself. Note this well." She could not at first understand the meaning of what Baba said. So she replied -- "Baba, how could I feed You? I am myself dependent on others and take my food from them on payment." Then Baba replied -- "Eating that lovely bread I am heartily contended and I am still belching. The dog which you saw before meals and to which you gave the piece of bread is, one with Me, so also other creatures (cats, pigs, flies, cows etc.) are one with Me. I am roaming in their forms. He, who sees Me in all these creatures, is My beloved. So abandon the sense of duality and distinction, and serve Me, as you did today." Drinking these nectar-like words, she was moved, her eyes were filled with tears, her throat was choked and her joy knew no bounds. " Sai Ram. This indeed is a wonderful story. Baba showed practically that He is not limited to body, space and time. He showed practically that He is One with every one. There are some more examples spattered through out Satcharitra, like Sai appearing to Balaram Mankar at Mahendraghad in a physical form etc. "Moral "See God in all beings" is the moral of this chapter. The Upanishads, the Geeta and the Bhagwat, all exhort us to perceive God or Divinity in all the creatures. By the instance given at the end of this Chapter and others too numerous to mention. Sai Baba has practically demonstrated to us how to put the Upanishadic teachings into practice. In this way Sai Baba stands as the best Exponent or Teacher of the Upanishadic doctrines. Bow to Shri Sai - Peace be to all" Sai Ram. Yes, this Moral is indeed the best gem from this chapter. The same concept is reinforced in Chapter 18, yes, again very significant since 18 adds up to 9, when Dasganu is taught the underlying concepts of Isa Upanishad. This indeed is a great chapter. Sai Ram. Wishing you a (W)holistic health, S.V.Swamy ------------------------------- 8. QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY: (By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao) "Shashi": shashi_31 8. Pearls of Wisdom - the Moral Teachings of Baba given to the Humanity. 36. See God in everyone you meet. See God in everything you handle. His mystery will be seen both in material and non-material world. Derive joy from the springs of joy within you and without you. Make a forward step every minute. His Feet are everywhere. His eyes are beyond all horizons. His face is before every face and share His presence with others. Have in your mind that LOVE is your feelings; PEACE is your strength. If you think like this a new life will be infused into you. 37. When you completely identify yourself with the ?ATMAN?, the encumbrance of the body-mind complex will be washed out. Then only you achieve freedom, liberation from bondage and attain Moksha. 38. When the body dies, the whole panorama of all the events of its entire life flashes back in front of you. This gives you another change to learn the lessons from the past, so as to modify and improve your tendencies for the future birth. 39. Detachment, Faith, and Love are the pillars on which peace rests. Without faith, Sadhana is unnecessary. Detachment alone can make Sadhana effective and love leads to God. God will give you what you want. There is no need to ask, be grateful, be content with whatever is given to you. Nothing can happen against God?s will. 40 the joy that derives out of wealth, pleasure and fortune is called ?HUMAN JOY?. Hundred times more than Human Joy is INDRA ANANDA; hundred times more than that is DEVENDRA ANANDA; hundred times more than that is BRIHASPATI ANANDA; hundred times more than that is PRAJAPATI ANANDA; more than that is BRAHMA ANANDA. This Brahma Ananda is more Swayam Prakasa. Atman-Ananda is Nitya and Niratisaya Ananda is present always and is incomparable. The joys of all other sources are comparable to one another and hence called Satisaya Ananda. Those enjoyed be a healthy and wealthy human being is called Manusha Ananda. compared to this 100 times more joyous is Manushya Gandharva Ananda. Hiranyagarbaanada is 100 times more than Prajapati Ananda. Thus Hiranya Garbha Ananda is like a speck in the ocean of Atman-Ananda which is Nitya, Swayam Prakasa, Niratisaya Ananda. This Brahma Ananda transcends the material, religious, moral and spiritual aspects of life. Of all these Anandas is Prama Sukhada. This happiness is higher than all the happiness. This happiness springs in the Atman and it confers changeless Supreme Happiness. 41. God as God alone is not consciously man, and man as man alone is not conscious God. The God-Man is consciously God as well as Man. 42. Between God and the universe, infinite mercy and unbounded love act as prominent link, which is eternally made use by man who becomes God and by God who becomes man. 43. Unless you give up the breath of your desires and die to yourself, you cannot have the breath of life forever. 44. I am always free, but when I come down amongst you, I also get Myself bound. I remain eternally free in Me and infinitely bound in you. I am eternally free in reality and infinitely bound in illusion. 45. My manifestations will embrace the religious, economic, social and spiritual aspects of life. It will spiritualize all human activities. 46. I am the universal truth. I steal the hearts of all human beings. 47. To Me the sinner, high and low, rich and poor, man and woman, young and old, are all the same, because I am in everyone, none should hesitate to embrace Me with love To be continued? -------------------------- 9. DEVOTEES EXPERIENCES: 1/13/2004 01:11:07 -0700 ganeshb51 It was in the year 1996, during one of my visits to Nasik City on official work, I co-incidentally got a chance to visit Shirdi Dham. My first look at the statue of Shri Shirdi SAIBABA from a distance appeared to be like my father who had expired in 1993. Little did I realize at that time that Baba himself had called me to Shirdi in view of the difficult times ahead of me. But for the blessings and support given by HIM , I shudder to think what I would have gone through. I passed through the most difficult 7 and 1/2 years Shanee period in my horoscope with courage and determination even though I got displaced to a far off place for service due to change of job, separation from my family for nearly 4 years, demands of money for education of my children etc. etc. With every difficulty with HIS grace, I became stronger and more determined because I left myself in HIS never failing hands. Baba also provided me opportunities to grow spiritually and today I can say that I am certainly a blessed child of SAI. My entire thinking of life has changed and I am most composed at all times. I am also fortunate that my family members, particularly my wife & children share the same devotion and blessings of SAI. >From my own experience, I would urge all to surrender themselves to HIS wishes and watch miracles happening all the time. SADGURU SHRI SAINATH MAHARAJ KI JAI! Yours sincerely, B.GANESH BHAT -------------- MANJUNATHA PRABHU": manjugita 1/12/2004 16:47:11 -0800 Experiences with SAI. 1.I am a Main Frame computer software consultant, by HIS grace I came to USA about 6 ½ years back. Though I have about 12 years of experience on MF still I did not have exposure to one of the technologies (DB2/SQL). I came out of project in September 2002, and I was asked many times by our company placement manager about my exposure to DB2/SQL, which I did not have, because of this I was unable to get into any project, condition came to an extent that company started thinking of removing me from the services, and at that time I did not have Green Card too with me. We both, myself and my wife were worried and whenever in tension we were ardently praying SAI/GOD to show us the way and free us from this misery, we had Faith that HE is taking care of us. After a week or so when the situation came that my company was to layoff me, during that time SAI inspired me to talk to one of my friend in Chicago and by SAI?s Blessings he helped me to get a project and unknowingly I got adequate exposure to DB2/SQL in that project. Whenever I used to get any new DB2/SQL related assignment in that project SAI used to help me through my colleagues. By HIS Grace I got the required exposure to DB2/SQL and now I have got green card too. It is all the GRACE of SAI! We Remain Grateful for all HIS innumerable times help and mercy shown upon us and ardently Pray HIM to guide and support us in the path of our duties. 2.This is another life saving miracle of SAI/GOD/MASTER. This took place in August 2003. I was driving with my family from St. Louis Missouri to Molena near Atlanta in the state of Georgia, USA to attend one of my Master?s seminar. Our, about 2 ½ years old son was sleeping while I was driving, so thinking to cover the maximum distance while he was asleep, I was just driving without taking any break, our gas/petrol meter was showing about 25% full, so I was driving thinking that I can easily cover another 50 miles while our son is sleeping. By the Grace of Master I came to the left most lane of the freeway, I was driving at 75-80 miles per hour, and without any notice all of a sudden our car went out of control and tossed off the road to the grass and breaks stopped working, we were terrified in that split of the second, I was telling O my GOD, and I heard my wife taking name of LORD SAI, slowly our vehicle came to halt and to our surprise I saw that we were out of gas/petrol, I got down from the car heavily thinking as what to do next , how to get the gas/petrol ?, we were not even near any exit to walk and fetch the petrol. It is GOD?s Grace soon a freeway patrol police car came from behind and enquired us as what happened and helped me to get the petrol and start our car. IT IS ALL GRACE OF SAI/GOD/MASTER that we are living on earth today without any injury. Before leaving from home I read the promise/message of SAI to Mirikar saheb before sending him to Chitale as below: ?This is our Dwarkamai, where you are sitting. She wards off all dangers and anxieties of the children who sit on her lap. This Masjidmai (its presiding deity) is very merciful. She is the mother of the simple devotees, whom She will save from calamities. Once a person sits on her lap, all his troubles are over. He who rests in her shade gets bliss? This nectar like promise /message saved we too from the major accident. We Remain Grateful for all HIS innumerable times help and mercy shown upon us, and ardently Pray HIM to guide and support u in the path of our duties. May the Shell of HIS Divine Presence around us protect us from all the calamities. -------------------- shanker_veeturi Veetury Venkata Rama Sastry, Res. Phone : 0884 - 2379698 SAI LEELA NO. 2 Soon after my retirement from Railway Service, I worked as a teacher for languages (Telugu & English), in one convert school for Two Years. The Principal of that school was a close friend to me. After some month I did not take my salary continuously for 3 months. At the 4th month and in the first week of the 4th month I have taken the 3 months salary at a time nearly Rs. 8000/-. It was my long pending desire that I must surprise my wife with a gift that she has been a long dream for ?Nallapussalu?. So I got it remembered and rushed to the Rathna Jewelers at Kakinada Temple Street, via. TTD Kalyana Mandapam, Keeping the whole amount in my back pocket and started cycling from Pindal Cherruvu to Temple Street. I crossed the TTD Junction and just reached Satyanarayana Murthy?s Temple, where I found the one way traffic. So got down from cycle and tried to return. In the mean time an unknown person rushed to me getting down from his cycle and said, ?Sir, Is this is your purse?. Immediately my right went to my back pocket and found no purse. Then I said positively. Taking the purse with thanks I counted on his request the whole amount which was intact. I immediately bowed my head and namaskarams offered to him like anything and offered him with Rs. 100/-. He refused me telling ?Sir, You have lost this purse from your back pocket at TTD Junction where the Bus Stop, Auto Stop and Ricsh Stand exists with overcrowded cyclists and foot passers through out the day and on finding it, thinking it as yours I started cycling to catch you but you are going with overspeed and as because you got down here I could catch you and handover this to you?. So it is my duty to give this thing to the right person. I could do it. So let me go with the pleasure and satisfaction that I have done a good thing today. Saying he started cycling and within a moment he is out of my sight. Thanking once again to the unknown immortal started towards with the thrilling thoughts and purchased the golden article. Returning home I told all the flash back to my wife who was over sympathized and immediately put that article at SAI?S FEET and murmured like anything. So I want to say who is this good gentleman who followed me and handedover the valuable purse and who is the immortal that is rejected my offer. He is nothing but my SAI, who has come down from Heaven to Earth and saved me with a long pending dream in the midst of every flowing traffic. So Such leela of SRI SAI are astonishing and thrilling once. He always safeguards his Bhakthas with his unbounded affection. Once again thanks to ?SRI SAI?. ----------- 11. SAI WITH CHILDREN: http://www.saidarbar.org/HTML/portraits/7.jpg Smt. MadhuGopal Ravada, Saidarbar, Hyderabad. Hello Children! I am Madhu aunty. Do you know Baba use to play with children and used to tell stories to them? I felt children visiting Saidarbar should be entertained with good stories. I have told you 24 stories during the year 2003. Baba told before He took His Maha Samadhi that He is Muralidhar and would like to play in Booty Wada (Samadhi Mandir) with His devotees. I wish you all A Happy New Year 2004. Study well and learn good manners. Tell your parents to read the Glory of Shirdi Sai - Fortnightly E-magazine and narrate Krishna Leelas from this magazine. SRI KRISHNA IS BORN: The night of the eighth day of the waning moon in the month of Shravan (August) was pitch dark. Devaki knew she was about to give birth to her eighth child. She was very sad as she knew that this one too would be killed by Kansa. They were bound in chains and were helpless. Vasudev did his best to keep calm and comfort her. They both prayed to the Lord to save their eighth child. Midnight was approaching. The city was lashed by a terrible thunderstorm. The river Yamuna was in full spate. No one dared to move out. Rainfall was heavy and the lightning played hide and seek in the dark night. The constellation Rohini could be seen as a beacon. A momentous event was about to happen. The celestial gods all waited anxiously for the lord to arrive on earth as an incarnation. The prison where Devaki and Vasudev were praying was a dark and cold place. Suddenly it was full of brightness as dazzling beam of light appeared. Lord Vishnu was there in all His divine glory. When they saw the Lord they fell at His feet. They forgot all their suffering and gazed at the Lord with unblinking eyes. Lord Vishnu then spoke to Devaki softly and told her that soon He would be born to her. Then He said to Vasudev that as soon as He was born, He, as an infant, should immediately be taken to the house of Nand, Vasudev's frined in Gokul. At about same time Nand's wife Yashoda would give birth to a baby girl. Vasudev should exchange the babies and return to the prison with the baby girl. Lord Vishnu asked Vasudev not to worry as nothing would stop him from reaching Gokul. And in a flash the Lord was gone. It was dark and cold all over again. At the stroke of midnight Devaki gave birth to beautiful dark complexioned baby boy. She held the child in her arms and kissed him. She did not want to let go of the baby. Vasudev's chains were suddenly snapped open and the gates of the prison opened. All the guards on duty fell asleep. He took the child from Devaki who would not let him go. He then reminded her of the Lord's word. He had to take the child to Gokul. So he left the prison. He put a few torn clothes in wicker basket and kept the baby in it. Devaki bid a last farewell to her child. Vasudev kept the basket on his head and left for Gokul. It was raining heavily, the river Yamuna has swollen. The constellation Rohini guided Vasudev's way in dark night. Sheshnaga, the celestial serpent spread its thousand headed hood over him like an umbrella. Vasudev then reached the banks of Yamuna. He stopped there. The water of Yamuna was swirling furiously. He had to cross the river to reach Gokul situated on the other side. With a prayer on his lips he stepped in to the river. And a miracle happened, the river parted and gave way to Vasudev to cross the river. As soon as he reached Gokul the river resumed its fury. The celestial serpent Sheshnag protected them all though. When he reached Gokul, it was very quiet and nobody could be seen on the streets. He reached his friend Nand's house and tapped a window. Nanda's wife Yashoda had just given birth to a baby girl but surprisingly everybody at home except Nand was fast asleep. Nand opened the door and was surprised to see Vasudev. Vasudev then told him about the birth of Sri Krishna and what Lord Vishnu had told him. Nand assured Vasudev of all help. He quickly took the child and promised Vadudev that he will guard the child for the rest of his life and bring him up as his own son. He then picked up his new-born daughter and handed her to Vasudev, to be taken back to Mathura. Nand then placed Shri Krishna beside his wife Yashoda. Giving great thanks to Nand Vasudev left for Mathura immediately. Once again Sheshnag escorted him and once again the river Yamuna gave way. Soon he reached the prison. Sheshnag then vanished. As he entered the prison the doors closed behind him and soon he was in chains. Just then guards woke up and whey they heard the cries of a baby they rushed to report it to Kansa. Kansa immediately left for prison as soon as he got the news. Inside him there was a fear to see this divine child. Seeing him coming Devaki fell on his feet and prayed to spare the child as she was a girl and not a boy as per the divine prophecy. She said that the girl would definitely not harm Kansa. But Kansa did not listen. "Hand me over the baby," he thundered. Kansa then snatched the baby girl from Devaki and tightly held the child by both of its legs and raised his hand to dash the baby on the ground. But surprisingly the baby slipped out of his hand and flew out of the window. As she rose in the sky Kansa heard her saying that she was goddess Durga and he could not harm her. She told him that the one who would destroy him had already taken birth. Kansa became very angry when he heard this but he also became confused. He could not understand how anyone could have moved out of the prison in such tight security. Besides Vasudev was also in his chains and other gates of the prison were locked. He made a pledge to kill his enemy as soon as possible. He immediately called the witches and asked them to kill all new born babies in Mathura born in the past month. Spirituality is not one-dimensional pursuit, nor is it necessarily opposed to a life of material pursuits. Spirituality takes our whole life into consideration and helps us take our joys and sorrows in our stride. It also helps us be aware that there is something more to life than just pursuing security and pleasure in life. Rather than renouncing life to take up to spirituality, we will do better to spiritualize all the areas of our life. It means that material pursuits are not for their own sake but to make our journey in life a pleasure. We do not carry with us anything beyond the grave. What will remain with us is our deeds - good and bad, and the wisdom that we have gathered over many lifetimes. Spirituality includes the pursuit of Dharma [righteousness], Artha [wealth & security], Kama [pleasures, love & happiness], and also Moksha [Growth, Freedom & Liberation]. As long as our pursuit of Artha and Kama is balanced by Dharma we will do well, spiritually speaking. Living such a balanced life brings about maturity and growth within ourselves so that in time we become ready to pursue our ultimate objective of Moksha. Moksha is ultimate growth wherein we let go of our limited self-concepts and soar towards freedom on the wings of self-knowledge and maturity. Sai Ka Laadla --------------- Arun Reddy" : arunreddy_n Story of the Brick Baba had a brick in his possession that He cherished as a life-long companion. Abdul used to take care of cleaning of the Masjid. Once while cleaning the floors, the brick that Baba treasured fell down and broke into pieces. Sainath was very sad at this event and lamented at the loss of one of His very few material possessions. King of the Yogis and the great soul that rejected everything material, Saibaba was dejected over what seemed to be a priceless piece of mud. How could that be? The brick was the one that Sai Baba?s fellow students threw at Him having consumed with jealousy of Sainath?s good standing with their Guru. Baba said that the Brick was dear to Him because it was perhaps the only physical reminiscent of His days with His Guru. While it reminded Baba of the protection Guru will always extend to his faithful disciple, the brick would also stand as a reminder to the jealousy of Sainath?s fellow students at His Guru?s abode. Pity should be the situation of those students who, blinded by jealousy, were unable to identify the True Brahman that was living and breathing amongst them. Jealousy, one of the evils that human mind harbors, is capable of blinding the intellect. Therefore, it should be a natural recourse for a spiritual aspirant to shun away from such an evil. Incident involving the brick may appear like a trivial happening in Baba?s life. But its significance is truly magnificent. Narration of incidents such as these makes Sri Sai Satcharitha the unique text on Sainath and His message. True Nectar! Arun Reddy Nukala ---------------- 13. Preparation was not done but arranged by lord, people themselves came on their own to give a helping hand and make the event a memorable one. I had very little time in hand but as they say when lord gives a destination he also shows the path and makes all the arrangements similarly people from temple and near by came forward and helped in having the inauguration of Sai Sharan at our home. Blessings, guidance and good wishes from Saibanisa uncle and Sankariah uncle were with us always from saidarbar Hyderabad, Exactly after one-year Sai Sharan family who is vigorously chanting the name of Sai have now a website where they can themselves register and update their naam jaap .The inauguration of the website also took place on the same day with the blessing of Sadguru Shirdi Sainath, Sri D.Sankariah (uncle) ji who has contributed the maximum naam jaap count and has been instrumental in Global Sai naam Jaap yagna and has been guiding all along about the sai naam jaap and Sri Saibanisa (uncle) Ji from Hyderabad "Saidarbar? who had presided in Shirdisai utsav 2003 In USA at SAI SHARAN SAIDARBAR Chapter Orlando and has been non stop and actively spreading Sai philosophy all over the globe since last so many years. It was a great day to have their blessing in this form. Exactly at aarti time the, website inauguration, inaugural speech on Saisharan and Sai blessings were showered from Hyderabad by Sankariah uncle and Saibanisa uncle ji connecting both place of Sai via telephone. After the inauguration good Bhajan went on for a hour and followed by Shri Sai Ashtothram (Chanting of 108 Names), Saibabas madhayan Aarti by priest of the temple and all the devotees were present singing aarti with full heart .As the aarti was going on, the minute when the offering in aarti and all the mantras were being offered to baba at that particular time when the aarti was coming to an end the garland of fresh flowers which was put on tha main photo of Sadguru Sainath fell down from one corner and hanged on the frame . Everyone was in bliss that Shirdi Sai Baba Himself has blessed with such flowers. Just after the Aarti was over here and it was middle of night in United States 4 AM-which was Brahma Muhurtham for Sai Sharan of their Thursday -Orlando, Florida, Sairam Sri spoke and offered his services and pledged to help and be in service to Sainath with Sai Sharan devotees of India. After the aarti, prashad distribution and a hearty lunch was given to all and one. When everyone returned after an hour the doorbell rang and it was again blessing from Sai. There was courier guy standing and handing over a parcel of CD.It was no other C.d. than the very SAI CD which Saibanisa Uncle had given discourse on his trip to Shirdisaiutsav 2003. With a very beautiful photo of Baba on the CD, a discourse on teachings of Baba in the form of CD, which is equal to live discourse, was blessing on this day. What can one have more than this as babas shower of blessings and love. My happiness knew no bound since it all took place on the same day THURSDAY babas day and Inauguration day for Website and Saisharan.I called Saibanisa uncle and Sankariah uncle and told them about the babas miracle that took place, they were touched and explained how it had happened with them in many places and how they themselves experienced this so many times, So the grand day of baba came to and end with his blessings for another good day to follow.
