Guest guest
A lovely reply to the message I sent--- In bramhandnayaka, Saurabh Deshpande <saurabhd2110> wrote: It is a very good list although some points missing. I have added my comments below. Please feel to correct me if I am wrong. So long as people don't threaten you, practise ahimsa. Self defense is allowed. Himsa for the sake of dharma sansthapana is also allowed, (killing of the wicked)to uphold the dharma. This is only in the case of brahmacharya ashram, in grishatashram it is allowed to have sex with your lawfully wedded wife for prajanana ( creation of offspring for the continuation of the vansha), although lust should not be there. Accumulation of wealth to the tune of 10-12 times your annual needs was allowed. Anymore than that was a sin. Brahmins were not allowed to accumulate wealth. In Rama rajya I think, the enitre wealth was redistributed by Rama to the people every 12 years. As for as the unslefishness here is a nice shloka Sarve sukhina santu sarve santu nirahmaya sarve bhadrani pashyantu ma kaschitta dukkha mapnuyat For the devotion to the duty also another one from Gita Karmanyeva dhikaraste ma faleshu kadachan Nevertheless it is a great compilation. Please do post more of this sort.
