Guest guest
wears a garland of skulls -Her complexion is deep blue, like the sky. As the sky is limitless, so is She. From a distance one sees the ocean water as blue, but it is colorless and transparent when examined closely. -Earrings: Images of two little babies hang from Her ears; this means that She favors childlike devotees. -Tongue: Kali's white teeth symbolize sattva or serenity; Her red tongue, rajas, or activity; and Her drunkenness: tamas or inertia. The meaning: tamas can be conquered by rajas, and rajas by sattva. -Full breast: She is the nourisher of all beings. -Terrible form: She is the mother of the universe as well as the destroyer. When a mother spanks her child, it does not mean that she is cruel; she disciplines her child for its own good. -Necklace: It consist of fifty skulls that represent the fifty letters of the Sanskrit alphabet, the origin of sound. She is Shabda Brahman (Sound-Brahman), or Logos-the source of creation.-Two right arms: The upper right arm grants fearlessness, and the lower right arm offers boons. She protects Her children from danger, and She fulfills their desires.-Two left arms: She holds a sword with the upper left arm and a severed head with the lower. She can cut human bondage with the sword of knowledge, and She imparts wisdom to the head, the receptacle of supreme wisdom.-Naked form: She is called digambari, "clad in space." She is infinite, so no finite dress can cover Her.-Waist: Kali's waist is encircled with a girdle of severed human arms that represent action. All human actions and their results go to the Divine Mother. At the end of a cycle all souls merge with Kali; during creation they again evolve with their respective karmas. -Shiva is under Her feet: Shiva and Shakti are always together. He is the changeless aspect of the Supreme, and She the apparently changing aspect of the same. Shiva is pure cosmic consciousness, and Kali is cosmic energy. No creation is possible without their union. Siva cannot manifest without the power of Kali, and Kali cannot function without the consciousness of Shiva." these words have really interested me and give me a clearer & larger vision of the mother. May our divine mother bless us in every birth regards Richa Shopping Find Great Deals on Holiday Gifts at Shopping
Guest guest
hi darkchildrenofheaven, As per your request,if your intention is towards spirituality. i would like to congratulate u on your wonderful objective. u can use your mantra given as u stated in your previous posting. your mantra attracts all types of shaktis, this can be quite powerful and our body might not be able to contend t energy that u attract by your commitment to your mantras. u can always chant the gaytri mantra. its energy is powerful, yet very peaceful n calming. t energy around gaytri is a such of a powerful yet tender mother.. it burns your sins n opens your heart to divine energy. n its one of t kind of mantra that doesnt punish or brings negative effect to u if u mispronounce it. it can be chanted anywhere and anytime. there is no specific time for repeating gaytri mantra. Gayathri Mantra "Know your roots". This will be useful in whatever field you are. The following article is "All about Gayathri Mantra". Why the name Gayathri? It is believed that Sage Vishwamitra, inspired by Lord Brahma composed the Gayathri mantra. This mantra is the Gayathri meter (In Sanskrit its called Gayathri chandas). This is the simplest of all meters in Sanskrit. Almost the whole of Ramayana is in Gayathri chandas. (Just for your information "Chandas" is nothing but a set of rules to compose poems / slokas) Since this was the first composition in Gayathri meter, this mantra came to be known as Gayathri mantra. Since the mantra invokes the Sun (savithra in Sanskrit) this mantra is also called Savithru mantra. What is the meaning of Gayathri? "Gaayantham traayate iti Gayathri" (don't worry this is in Sanskrit). Gaayantham = One who sings / chants Traayate = Protect Iti = is Whoever chants this mantra I protected (this is the meaning of the word Gayathri) Meaning of the Gayathri Mantra Sun god, the creator of earth, ether and heaven, I pray to you (Bhoorbhuvassuvaha, tat saviturvarenyam, Bhargodevasya dheemahi) Why am I praying to you? Give me a good intellect (Dheeyoyonaha prachodayaat) Is there any importance in the way Gayathri mantra is chanted? The syllable Om is composed of three letters - Aa U Ma. Why only these three syllables. Why not others? This is what I feel; there may be other views as well. Human body can be compared to a piece of iron. All the atoms in a piece of iron is distributed haphazardly, but when you rub a magnet over the piece in a particular direction all the atoms are aligned in one direction and they function together to give the overall magnetic effect. And after constant rubbing the piece of iron becomes a magnet itself!!!! In the same fashion our body is composed of so many millions of cells. They all need to be channeled in one direction for the body to function at its best. Our Om will act as a magnet and orient our body cells in one direction When Om is chanted, the whole body vibrates in resonance. Aa U Ma makes the lower body, mid portion and the upper body vibrates, thus channeling all the body forces in one direction. After chanting Om a few times (like rubbing the magnet over the iron piece a few times) the body (now the iron piece has become a magnet) is ready for the Gayathri mantra!! It is found that vibrations (external) have certain impact on the growth / death of the body cells. This is the reason why scratching sound displeases the ear and the music is pleasing. This Gayathri mantra when chanted properly is found to increase the production of brain cells. Where does Sun god come into picture? Such intricate details, the hoi polloi could not understand (even now I don't think too many people know the right way to chant Gayathri mantra). So may be the rishis (the ancient scientists) thought that if it is made a rule and if the mantra is attributed to some god, this would evoke the common man's interest. And during Vedic times there were no Gods like Krishna, Rama or Christ! They knew that the Sun light is the main source of life on the planet. So, I guess they attributed the sloka to the Sun god. i hope t info that i gave u might be useful or help to u. goodluck in your future undertakings.
