Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! My name is Murali Krishna Kalvapudi living in the Bay area. I am participating in the satsang conducted by Shriman Vamsi Mudumba as per HH Shri Swamiji's direction. One of the satsang participants has asked me whether it is appropriate to recite/discuss Bhagavadgita at a house other than a public place)? His concern was that Mahabharatham and especially the 'war' part of it including Bhagavadgita which came out during the war, may create war like situations at home, if recited/discussed at a home. He was of the view that it is appropriate to recite Gita at a public place and a little sentimental about reciting/discussing Gita at home. I was not aware of any such restrictions and as Gita has emanated from the Lord's divya mukha padmam itself, and being holiest of the holy scriptures, it will not originate/promote any rajas/thamo gunams. I replied him in the same way and promised to get back to him with more clarifications. HH Shri Swamiji has mentioned about such misconceptions for eg: Garuda Puranam can not be recited except during 'those' days, during His speech at Sunnyvale temple, CA. and I believe this opinion is also one such misconception. Similarly some people say that Sthree Parvam should not be recited at home. I seek the opinions of the Learned Members of the Group and HH Shri Swamiji's direction/guidance for the 'concerned' participant of the satsang. Thank you! Adiyen Ramanuja Dasa Murali Krishna Kalvapudi. Jai Srimannarayana.
Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! Priya Sriman Murali and Bhagavad bandhu:s! Chanting Bhagavad Githa at home is as good as chanting at a public place. The opinions you have expressed are really good. All the Ithiha:sas and Pura:na:s are always good to be chanted at any place and in any time and also by anyone also. Few people created some sort of sentiments and that is what made our rituals and pu:jas complicated in somany ways. The only restriction persists with the Ve:da as to where and when who and in what manner it should be read. In fact, people are not at all following those rules with The Holy Ve:das and trying to show somany excuses to other scriptures, for which there is absolutely no restrictions. You can peacefully go ahead with the satsang of Bhagavath Gita. Jai Srimannarayana! =chinnajeeyar= Jai Srimannarayana!
