Guest guest
Jai Sriamannarayana! "Mangalam Ko:salendra:ya Mahani:ya Guna:tmane:! Chakravarthi Thanu:ja:ya Sa:rvabhouma:ya Mangalam!!" "We are very happy that our trip to US is ending with Pattabhishekam to Lord Rama after Sundara Kanda Samoohika Parayanam" were the words of HH Sri Sri Sri Jeeyar Swamy. I was very fortunate to be one among those blessed ones to have been able to do the Ramayana parayana. It was too special as it was done in the presence of Sri Kodandaramaswamy and His pariwara in the Divine presence of H.H. Sri Sri Sri Jeeyar Swamiji. Several devotees have participated in the samuhika parayanam starting from 6AM in the morning to 9AM on Saturday and Sunday (29/7,30/7/2000). The Sundarakanda Goshti members who were doing one day Sundara Kanda parayanams were very happy that their 12th such event is being conducted in Shri Swamiji's presence on Punarvasu day. Shri Ram Mohan, Shri Ram Gopal and family, Shri Subrahmnyam, Shri Sundar and family, Shri Narayanan, Shri Raghu, Shri Vamsi, Smt Ramanuja, Shri Murali Krishna and family, Shri Venkat, Shri Sudhanva Char and family participated and many other devotees have attended to listen to the parayanam. The whole temple was reverberating with the ramayana slokas which were recited with single tone (mukta kantham). After reciting the pattabhisheka sarga and at the time of Sathumorai, all of us have recited the pattabhisheka ghattam again in Perumal Sannidhi. HH Shri Jeeyar Swamyvaru blessed all the participants with Perumal's pushpams and explained to all the sequence of events after Pattabhishekam. It was really surprising to know from Jeeyar Swamiji that the event of Pattabhishekam was complete only after Anjaneyaswamy's 'satkAram' After Lord Rama was crowned, everyone was honoured with gifts except Hanuma which made others wonder why Hanuma, the most important person responsible for their reunion and the entire celebration wasn't being honored. At that time Devendra presented Lord Rama with a chain of pearls( muthyala pathakam - in Telugu). Sri Rama took the haram and garlanded Seethamma with an intention which Sita would understand. Seetha a little amused by the gift, took out the haram and looked around all Va:naras and Rama repeatedly. Lord Rama knowing what Sita has in her mind asked Seethamma to present the hAra to the person who possessed "Paurusha, Bhuddhi, Vikarama". "praDe:hi subbhagE:! hAram yasya tushTasi Bha:mini paurusham vikramo bhudhihi yasmin ETani sarvasaha dadau sa: va:yuputhrAya, tam hAram asitEkshaNa" Thus Hanuman was blessed twice by Lord Rama and also by Sitha, such a special gift no one else has got. Others were blessed by Rama alone but Hanuman was blessed by Sitha too. HH Shri Swamiji has presented this dramatic event by actually decorating Lord Rama with the pearl necklace, then as if Lord Rama is garlanding, decorated Sitha. And as if she was waiting for Lord's approval, took out the haram and waited till we all recite the slokam 'Dadau Sa: Vayu puthyraya" then decorated Hanuman with the Haram. The necklace and Crown were presented by Smt Padma Char befitting pattabhishekam event. We are all very happy that Smt Padma Char is facilitating such a good satsangam in Atlanta and doing so many Sundarakanda eka dina parayanams. One more is being planned on 6th August and at least another before end of August. Let us all pray for Swamiji's Mangalasasanams to the holy group and devotees participated in the wonderful event! Adiyen Ramanuja Dasa! Raghu Mudumba. Jai Sriamannarayana! ______________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
