Sri Swamiji, Thank you for giving us this opportunity to learn, understand and

realize the purpose of this life.

Pardon me for my ignorance. I do have many questions, but I would like to ask 5

questions for now.

1.I am a very sincere devotee of Lord Hanuman. Even in my dreams I have found

myself chanting HIS name. I pray regularly and chant mantras for Hanuman. But,

I have not chanted mantras for Vishnu. Does that mean that I am not praying for

the ultimate GOD?

2.Siva and Vishnu are both described as the Creater, Destroyer and the Ultimate.

Why do we have two divisions in Hinduism, when there is only one GOD?

3.As a women, I am asked not to pray, or go anywhere near pooja areas during my

periods time. I was told that it is not clean to do so. But, this is a natural

thing and I don’t understand this. Just because we are woman, does that

mean that we are not supposed to pray sometimes? I have had this question in my

mind for a long time and feel that it is injustice to womanhood. What does vedic

say?

4.What is the meaning of bathing the deities with milk, fruits, etc.

Mantra’s are necessary for the deity and I understood the meaning of it

from your web site, where you have stated that the deity has to be coated with

mantras to reflect our mind. I have seen in temples, where people donate cans

and cans of milk and fruits and the priest just keeps poring it on the deity.

Most of which were not collected back. There are so many people who are in

hunger who could be fed. What is the purpose of this?

5. If the purpose of keeping bindi was to activate the “pineal

gland”, then why are we in India, linking it to marriage? Why are widows

forced not to wear it?

Thank you, for taking the time and trying hard to educate us and making us to

realize many things.

Sincerely,

Shanti Balaraman

Sri Swamiji,

Thank you for giving us this opportunity to learn, understand and realize the

purpose of this life.

Ans: You need not worry about it. Lord Hanuman is a great devotee of Lord

Sriramachendra only. And then, God loves the devotees of His beloved devotees.

You are a devotee of His devotee. So you are verymuch liked by the Lord

Himself.

2.Siva and Vishnu are both described as the Creater, Destroyer and the Ultimate.

Why do we have two divisions in Hinduism, when there is only one GOD .

Ans. Ultimate God is one and ONE only. He got a very big administration, in

whichthere are somany souls are appointed to execute different activities like

creating, The Brahma, protecting, The Indra, destroying , The Siva etc., But

people get confused the words like Deva and Devatha etc., Ultimate God is

called De:va. Other demmy gods are called as de:vathas. There is clear

difference between all these de;vathas, among themselves and also with God too.

And so where is scope for confusion?

3.As a women, I am asked not to pray, or go anywhere near pooja areas during my

periods time. I was told that it is not clean to do so. But, this is a natural

thing and I don’t understand this. Just because we are woman, does that

mean that we are not supposed to pray sometimes? I have had this question in my

mind for a long time and feel that it is injustice to womanhood. What does vedic

say?

Ans. You are good. Women are blessed with a great boon like giving birth to new

entry babies to this world. Does a man can do this? Definitely not. Do you

think man should claim that they have been descriminated? So also, women are

privilleged to do something and also men. They must understand the concept of

the body and unlimately be greatful to God. For your information, monthly

cycle, is not just a natural process like other releases from the body. Other

things like urine etc., have no particular time to release. But this secretion

has a particular time, If that time is shifted, the health is disturbed. don't

you agree with it? So there is something to understand about it. Let our

scientists come out with still latest things to reveal something about it. Till

then let us follow that tradition.

Ans. We have explained about this earlier. Orelse, you can ask somebody from

Detroit or from Atlanta, who recorded our discourse about it there.

5. If the purpose of keeping bindi was to activate the “pineal

gland”, then why are we in India, linking it to marriage? Why are widows

forced not to wear it?

Ans. We have already given reply to it. For Srivaishnavite ladies or gents, who

got Pancha Samska:ras, there is no restriction to wear red one in the middle in

verticle mood and the white one beneath the red in horizental line.

Thank you, for taking the time and trying hard to educate us and making us to

realize many things.

Sincerely,

Shanti BalaramanJai SrimanNarayan
