(I think this is also one of the titles of Balaa.)I can understand why Kali can be described as Ugra, or Ghora, and that it is not really an insult to her since she can assume such forms if she wants to frighten someone or repel someone. But I cannot see should why she be called Kubjika. Is there an esoteric reason for this title, or is it a reference to a particular myth in which she assumed such a form for some purpose? Or is it a misprint or mistranslation?Jai KaliTo from this group, send an email to:Kali_MaYour use of Groups is subject to the
Guest guest
once my guruji said that kubjika word is used for unawakened kundalini as it is coiled up (hunchback). since maa lies in muladhara in dormant mode till we awaken her, may be this is the reference that was being made.i think this is not a typo. just my guess anyway --- patrick delaney <drdee wrote: > Looking through Kali's names I noticed one that > surprised me -- the > name is Kubjika, and means Crippled or Hunchback. Guest guest
Namaste Kanna, I think I first saw the name kubjika in a version of kalisahasranaama posted on . Kubjika is name 657. (See /message/6023). But I have seen the same list in other places; it's in the files of group GoddssKali (See GoddessKali). On http://www.shivashakti.com/bagala.htm there is a hymn to Bhagalamukhi, but only the English is given: "Hail to you every day O Proclaimer, Speechless One, Beggar, Ruler of Earth, Cosmos and Men, Cool One, Cruel' One, Reconciling One, Wicked One, True Mother, Giving Success Quickly, Lame One, Proud One, Crippled One, All-Exterminator, Dull One, having-the' Yantra of all Yantras, O Shri Eternal Bagalamukhi, O Beautiful One" Jai Kali Kali_Ma, kanna krishnan <kanna_krishnan2002> wrote: > Namaste Patrick, > > May I know form which text and under what title you got this wortd from ? > > Jai Maa!! > > patrick delaney <drdee@a...> wrote: > Looking through Kali's names I noticed one that surprised me -- the > name is Kubjika, and means Crippled or Hunchback.
