Guest guest
Respected Sri Jeear Swamy Varu, This rather perplexing question came to me early this morning. I have included the message below for your kind response, and I am certain that it is only you who can provide him with guidance in this regard. I have included his e-mail address such that we devotees can provide our service to him and his friend in encouraging words and positive advice. Situations such as these come up very often in this modern world. Your kind direction is very much needed on how we devotees can help, if it is all befitting for us to do so. adiye:n ra:ma:nuja da:san mohan - <raj <vk_talk > Friday, January 12, 2001 3:06 AM RE: [vk_talk] Reminder - Sri V. Guest guest
Adiyen, While we await the response from His Divine Grace, I would like to share a recollection of Sri Swamiji's discourse, in my own words: The Vedas', Upanishads' and even the Bhagavad Gita say that only a fortunate few of the zillions' of souls' achieve the human body. Nowhere do they sanction taking one's own life for one reason or the other. They only beckon us to make the best out of the good and bad, as percieved by us. Guest guest
Priya Sriman Raj ji! Jai Srimannarayana! Mentioning about suicide, is there in somany places of Smruties. But you wanted it from the Vedas directly, right? Sukla Yajur Veda condemns the act of commiting suicide as a very big sin. And also says that those who commit so, will reach a place where there is dense darkness and no light at all. Here is the Manthra: "asurya: na:ma the: lo:ka:h andhe:na thamasa: vrutha:h, tha:ns the: pre:tha: bhi gachchanthi e:ke:cha a:thmahano: jana:h." Here "a:thma hano: jana" is the one who is a suicidal. Of course, there are somany other interpretations too. But this is the main meaning. Is it enough for you? Jai Srimannarayana! =chinnajeeyar= Auctions - Buy the things you want at great prices. http://auctions./
