We would like as many or all of us to show

support at the parade under Vikasatharingini

banner.

 

It will be a very well organized parade with

about 30-40 organizations participating.

There will be prizes/award to the the first

three groups. We would like to the men &

women to be in authentic Indian dress.

Our group will be joined by the slokathan group

of Sugarland lead by Thara Narsimhan Garu.

 

So we expect to have a group of atleast 30-40

people. Kids of any age can participate too.

So be sure to bring the kids and spread the

word around. Please be there by 12:30 PM

PLEASE READ THIS:

The Vikasatharingini group of greater Houston is

one of the participating organization in the Republic

Day celebration to be held on Saturday, January 27,

2001 from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM at the George R

Brown Convention Center. We will be participating

in the slow parade as well as in dance parade as a

group under the Vikasatharingini banner. I hereby

request each and every family to participate in

these parades and make Vikasatharingini's existence

well known among the 70 odd other organizations.

The parade will commence around noon outside the

convention center (I believe). We are also

participating in a youth program with a patriotic

song by our youth and also by enacting it (six

minutes). There are dance competitions and various

other entertainment programs. The celebration will

conclude with a live entertainment by Sonu Nigam.

Please e-mail or call Mr.. Khambati, Dr. Chary,

Jastis, Pulijalas or myself with any suggestions or

ideas on how well we can coordinate this effort.

Also if any of would like to participate in any

program, please let us know if we can help.
