In Melkote, there are 2 temples of significance. 1. ChellaPillai Temple & 2. Narasimha Swami Temple (Uphill) We visited a place called Thondanur(around 25 km from Melkote)where Sriman Ramanuja had stayed for a brief while and built temples and a dam! This holy place has following temples apart from a beautiful dam (built during Sriman Ramanuja's era) and a lake! 1. Kannan Koil (Krishna Temple) (Parthasarathy seated with Upaya Nachiyars) 2. Nambi Narayanan Temple (where Sriman Narayana is in a pose to do Samashrayanam to Sri Thondanur Nambi (A sishya of Sriman Ramanuja). Lord has Chakra in his left hand & Shanku in his right hand! 3. Sri Narasimha Swami Temple. (Yoga Narasimhar. This temple houses a lime mortar figure of Sriman Ramanujar in yogic position to the original scale! It is said to have sculpted by his sishyas when Sriman Ramanuja was doing penance.)
