Humble Pranams to all Devotees: With the divine mangalasanams of our Acharya HH Jeeyar Swamiji the members of the VikasaTarangini of Washington DC decided to meet bimonthly effective September 2001. This is to accommodate the enthusiasm and request from VT members to meet once in the middle of the month to recite Thiruppaavai, Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam and Pra:tas smarani:yam and again at the end of the month to listen to Swamijis Upanyasam . So we meet on the 2nd Sunday and 4th Saturday of every month. Accordingly we met on Sunday 9/16/01 at Ravi and Vasanthi Aharam’s residence. As part of VT activity we had our first Samskrit class taught by Indira and Prakruthi Prativadi. we will have Samskrit class once a month from now on. We had our 2nd meet was on Saturday 9/29/01 at Seshacharylu and Smt. Chandrakala’s residence in Virginia. We started the program promptly at 10:00 AM with the recitation of thanian and Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam. At 11:00 Am we listened to our Swamijis Upanyasam on " why do good people suffer" relating to sept 11th incident. Following Swamiji’s lecture we practiced the pra:tas smarani:yam slokas as a group. Children joined us in recitation of Vishnu sahasranamam and in the Bhajans. The program was concluded with Sathumurai and mangalam songs followed by prasadam. We are happy to inform that with the blessing of our Acharya we have six new families join our VT group. Compliments and thanks to Seshu and Chandra for inviting them to our VT. Our next session is on Saturday October 13th at 10:00 AM at Srinivasa Kumar and Bharathi Srinivas ‘s residence in Virginia. Srinivas will contact the VT members via email to provide directions to his residence. Please clarify me how I can listen such Upanyasams. Because, as far as I know, Swamiji is now Outside US and so I wonder, if the upanyasam is any kind of recording.
