Priya Sriman Aravind Raman!

Jai Srimannarayana!

You have asked about the Hari Hara Putra Concept and

its authoritativeness.

To be frank in this issue, there is no right evidence

in any of the 18 Pura:na:s or in Ithiha:sa, like Sri

Ra:ma:yana or Srimad Maha:bha:ratha. Even they people

are not trying to show any authority from this vedic

literature. They only say that the Kshe:thra

Ma:ha:tmayam, the history of the place, says so. That

is what we have to respect.

The story they mention is a place in Srimath

Bha:gavatham, but in a different way. When Mo:himi

incornation was taken by The Lord Vishnu, Lord Siva

was not present there. Lord Siva heard about the

cherismatic beauty of Mo:himi, approached Lord Vishnu

and asked Him to show that form again to Him. Lord

said that it would be so unbearable to Siva to control

himself. Lord Siva said that he would have no problem

in controlling himself and wanted to see that at any

cost.

While this discussion was going on Lord Siva heard

some sound of ankle-bells of a Lady, who was moving

nearby. Even without taking permission from Vishnu,

Siva left the place in search of that Lady and started

running after her. She moved so many places here and

there and finally, when Siva thought that he got her,

just she disappeared and He lost control over his

senses then and there was Skalanam(semen dropped).

Where ever His Vi:ryam dropped, it turned to Silver.

That is the reason, Silver is also called as

"roudram". There was no mention at all about any boy

born during that time. There was no intercourse like

act between Sive & Vishnu even mentally.

So, birth of Ayyappa itself is at question, at first

instance.

In addition to this, none of our fore-fathers know

anything about this boy. There is a small

sannidhi(temple) in each Vishnu temple in Kerala,

called as Sa:stha temple, who is supposed to be the

kshe:tra Pa:laka for those places. That sa:stha was

not this Ayyappa. So, authoritarians have to think

and say something about this god.

Keeping all this aside, what we need to appreciate is,

that so many youngsters are accepting this, to get

into devotion. That part is unquestionable and

everybody should appreciate.
