Guest guest
Dear Devotees, Jai Sriman Narayana. Please permit me to make public how ignorant I am. Regarding the Sa-gotra Vivahas, if the bride and the bridegroom belong to the same gotram, they are related as brother and sister, sometime earlier, through their ancestors and hence such marriages are not permitted in the scriptures. Could it be the same thing as the present GENETIC code, of dominant gene and recessive gene, as we see in some states of India: a boy can marry his mother's brother's (maternal uncle's)daughter BUT NOT his father's brother's (paternal uncles's) daughter; also, a boy can marry his father's sister's(paternal aunt's) daughter, BUT NOT his mother's sister's ( maternal aunt's) daughter. Anyway, there are so many boys and girls belonging to other gotrams as well, and many marriage beaurus can help in finding a partner with a different gotram, so why marry someone contrary to scriptural injunctions. Thank you all. Srimad Azhagiyasingar Thruvadigale Saranam, adiyen, venkat.
