Guest guest
Adiyen happened to see this on the wall of a temple, long time back. Very Profound in meaning yet simple and crystal clear in words, has always been adiye:n's inspiration. I pray to the lotus feet of Acharya to give the strength to live this prayer. Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace. Where there is hatred let me show love. Where there is injury let me show pardon. Where there is doubt, let me show faith. When there's despair, let me show hope; where there's darkness, let me show light; and where there is sadness, let me show joy. Oh, Divine Master, grant that I may not seek so much to be consoled, as to console. That I may not seek so much to be understood, as to understand; to be loved, as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned. And in surrendering (our Ahankaram)that we are born to eternal life (Vainuktham)! -Author unknown to adiye:n. Jai Srimannarayana, Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Sharanam. Guest guest
Namaste, Author of this poem is St. Francis of Assisi. I know by reading Eknath Eswaran book "God Makes the Rivers to Flow" (Selections from the sacred literature of the world chosen for daily meditation). When I searched internet for this saint, I got this poem as "Peace Prayer of St. Francis" at http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/Francis/peaceprayer.asp Just FYI.
