Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! With the benevolence and guidance of HH Shri Jeeyar Swamiji I would like to continue the following few lines from my previous posting. So, the question that came up during Shri Swamiji's lecture was 'If I am leading a sincere life, do I need to worship or learn about God and His divine ways?" Shri Swamiji has appreciated the question and answered - rather - initiated a thought process among the audience. Shri Swamiji said, "When you say that you are leading a sincere life, think whether you are truely sincere ? and if so to what extent?" Are we utilizing 100% of the energy and potency given to us by the Supreme Soul and putting it to the benefit of ourselves, mankind and nature? The faculties given to a human being are very superior and more powerful than those given to other species in this wonderful nature. If I am living by myself, earning money, feeding my family, spending money on necessities and comforts of my life, contributing to the society only when I can do so, then - what is the difference between the life of an animal in a forest and a human being? Animals also do the same thing - to be more precise - they do more than what we do. They find their food on their own as per nature's law, feed themselves and their kitten, give birth to young ones and train them, move in groups (society in their primitive form!) when permitted by nature and complete their life cycle. What do they do more than a human being - they utilize every gram of their energy for their benefit and do not hesitate to put it to use, - they respect the laws of nature and promote natural balance and growth, - they do not go against the nature in a destructive manner as humans are doing now and so on. Shri Swamiji was quoting a western philosopher and said "ironically, the more we go against the nature, the more civilized we are" - it is true if we think with our conscience. Even if we observe a bird, it wakes up in the morning before Sun rise (Do we? and we are civilized ...). It leaves its nest in search of food for the day. After it has taken enough food, it does not stack any more food for tomorrow - everyday is fresh start (Do we have to learn something from this?). Eventhough its search for food is complete, it continues to wander in the nature, without taking rest, utilizing every ounce of its energy - sometimes enjoying the beauty of the nature, sometimes promoting other activities knowingly or unknowingly, sometimes helping other birds, maintaining ecological balance and so on. When Sun sets it comes back to its nest and sleeps for the night. Next morning begins again after a good night's sleep. It never thinks that the routine is very boring and let me go for a movie today. It also does not expect anyone else to bring food for it, on any single day. If it does not get enough food, it does not blame others or God. All birds care for their young ones, feed, teach and train them up and care for a family. Some birds even are social - for example crows - call other crows, for sharing food or help. Do we do that? We will try to stack or hide something for ourselves and will avoid sharing as far as possible. Do we work as sincere at least as birds - leave alone animals. Given a chance human tendency is to avoid any work that is assigned to him. We want to enjoy the fruits without doing the work that bears the fruits. If we do not get enough we cry for it, blame others, curse society, God, ancestors etc. Most of us work in offices or factories or in the market for a salary. Given the salary, capacity, responsibilities, rights and duties, are we doing 100% justification to our job? It is high time to start contributing 100% into our lives. "At the end of the day, if everyone of us can introspect whether he/she has done 100% of what he/she could have without any bias and resolve to fill the gap the next day I hope our country would be the top most performer in the whole world." This is exactly why we should learn more about ourselves, more about God, more about Rama, what He has done to be a perfect human being whose biography is an object of worship even after millions of years. What is so special about Him? Let us continue to learn from Shri Swamiji's answer in the next posting. Adiyen Ramanuja Dasaha Murali Krishna Kalvapudi. Guest guest
Dear Sriman Muraliji, Jai Sri:manna:ra:yana, Thank you very much for this very thought provoking posting. It precisely addresses our drawbacks and inspires us to better utilize our time to serve our Acharya. Our Acharya's "va:ni" has immense cleansing power. Adiye:n has found a rule of thumb in this regard. Just hear with great attention, morning 1 hour and evening 1 hour to any CD/tape of our Acharya, all the inauspicious things will be washed away from our hearts. And as our heart is getting cleansed of all dirty things, our ability to hear increases. We grasp newer meanings from the same lectures...we hear again, we grasp more... it is an ongoing exercise to our mind, there is no ending. Thank you very much and kindly forgive adiye:n's ignorance. Jai Sri:manna:ra:yana. Adiye:n, Sheshagiri. , "murali_chris" <murali_chris@h...> wrote: > Jai Srimannarayana! >
