Priya Bhagawadbandhuvullara,

Jai Sriman Narayana!!

Adding some more on this subject based on the Samskarabhiksha of Sri Sri Sri

Jeeyar Swamiji

Our elders say as per sastras every human being continues to have three major

direct debts (Runams) whether one is aware or not, viz.

Pitru Runam (indebtedness to parents, ancestors for giving their legacy,

house name, body, samskara, language, etc..and ...)

Rushi Runam (indebtedness to all our Rushis, Acharyas, learned people from

whom we got the scriptures, systems, procedures etc..etc..)

Deva Runam (indebtedness to all the Devatas who represent the Pancha bhootas

like air, water, fire, ether and earth etc.... without whom we cannot survive

even fraction of a second...)

Regarding indirect indebtedness (Runams) to various agencies consisting of

other human beings, trees, animals etc.. there is no limit though we acquire

them by token payments (which cannot be equated to the service) in return;

this indebtedness is inevitable as long as we are enjoying the fruits of such

agencies.

Some illustrations are

Our first item bed tea/coffee consists of milk brought from cows/buffaloes,

milkmen, milk agencies etc....Tea from tea gardens from plants, pluckers and

various agencies, sugar from sugarcane, factories etc...Cup made from cup

industries....Fire from gas/electricity stations and finally ingredients of

nature (air, water, fire, ether, earth) So thousands of hands are involved

in the making of a cup of tea which we simply sip and forget. Though we pay

a nominal amount, a few cents/paisa for the cup of tea, one cannot say

that he/she cleared his/her indebtedness towards the

efforts/hardships/human-animal-right-violations/mishaps/sufferings put by all

innumerable living agencies directly/indirectly responsible for the making of

a cup of tea

Similarly innumerable hands are involved in each and every thing we

continuously enjoy/possess like all our food, clothes, shoes, house, car and

all the mechanical/electrical/electronics hardware/software.

The token payments one makes for possessing the above cannot be assured to

have reached to each and every hand in a justifiable way.....

Thus our indebtedness cannot be evaluated in the right sense..... Then how to

clear our mega indebtedness(principal and interest accrued due to continous

unawareness) accumulated right from our birth.....

Lord Krishna gives the fantastic solutions to the above chronic problems in

His teachings in Srimad Bhagawadgita

He declares that He is the only source for each and every activity to

happen in the entire Universe. There is nothing which is beyond His

purview. He is the

writer/director/actor/musician/screen-player/producer/.../.../... of the

entire Universal Show. He suggests us to attribute each and every action

to Him like breathing, eating, walking, touching, drinking, working etc..

etc.. He says if we are devoted to Him every moment of our life, then He can

clear us all of our unknown indebtedness

Thus by doing all our regular duties as service to Him and

remembering/chanting His divine names, all our indebtedness can be vanished.

Because He being the source for each and every action of each and every

being, He clears our indebtedness by favouring all the sources accordingly.

Otherwise we remain ticketless travellers on this earth

Jai Sriman Narayana
