Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! With the benevolence of HH Shri Jeeyar Swamiji and His guidance, I would like to continue the following few lines from my previous posting on How sincere we are ... So, after initiating the introspection process in the audience, on whether they are doing at least a percentage of what the animals or trees or other species are doing .. Shri Swamiji moved on to the reminder of His upadesam on What was the qualities of Lord Rama, Who is God, How a human being should be and so on ... For some persons (like me), it was a revelation - in true sense, an unpalatable sense of admonition on how awful we are till now. Everytime we have to help another person, there was a wind of thoughts on how much should we help, whether the other person will be grateful to us (no matter how simple is the help). Should we contribute so much for a particular cause or just a little is enough? If so do we get anything back from this ? Several times, we think that - "Oh! There are many persons in the world who will contribute to this cause, so why should I also chip in? Anyway, I am contributing to some other cause. I can just enjoy the services provided by them." Does a tree think that - "Oh! this person is already having so many fruits in his house, why should I give him more?" ....... No. In other situations we think that "Oh! if I contribute or give commitment for this much - what will happen to my savings ? If these savings deplete/get reduced what will happen to me and my family ? " Does a tree think that - "Oh! I have to keep at least few seeds or fruits for me so that I can grow young ones. I will keep 10% of the fruits for me and the rest you can take." What if every tree in the world think like that ? If we are not anywhere near to even a tree in such simple situations, then how can we belong to a superior race ? How can we consider ourselves as living selfless ? God has divided all the species into four catagories Deva, Manushya, Tiryak, Stha:vara (Cha:thur varnam ). Deva is considered to be superior to Manushya which in turn superior to Tiryak and the last is Stha:vara. Stha:vara are those which can not move, Tiryak are those who move horizontally like animals, birds, fish etc Manushya are humans who move vertically and Deva are the divine souls. Every creature has a soul and God gives different bodies depending on karma for each creature. If we are having a body of Manushya but still if our thinking and qualities are much lower than what a Stha:vara possess - we can not consider that we possessed this body out of our own merit or good/bad karma that we did. It is purely God's 'Avya:ja karuna: kata:ksham' or His divine causeless benevolence/mercy on this soul. God looks to the sufferings and infinite loops of birth and death life cycles of the souls and pours His Love on us- like a mother on her days old little one. He picks up the souls one by one and elevates them to higher life, expecting that utilizing the higher senses this soul would be ideal in actions, strive to be high in his learning etc. So, it is God who has given us this body and abilities of all the organs/senses etc. Should we not be thankful, respectful, worshipful, for such kind God ? If we do not thank him for every grain of rice we are eating, are we not erring out in our duties and responsibilities ? Should we not pray Him for his mercy and further help we definitely need to enhance our life ? Definitely yes. That is the need to pray. That is exactly why we should know about God, Lord Rama, what is expected of us and how should we lead our lives. That is the reason why we should read Ramayana and know about what speacility in Lord Rama made him to be 'Marya:da: Purusho:ttam" and Rama "chandra". Let us continue to learn from Shri Swamiji's pravachanams in the next posting Adiyen Ramanuja Dasaha Murali Krishna Kalvapudi Jai Srimannarayana
