Guest guest
Jai SrimanNarayana, Satday 23rd Feb is Bheeshma Ekadasi Day. Pl enlighten me abt the significance of this day, whether the day is in observation of Bhishma Jayanthi (Birth) or the day when he attained Moksha from the battle field of Kurukshethra? Because we also recite Sri Visnu sahasranaamams on this day in memory of this great soul who recited this to Yudishtara before shedding his mortal body. Kindly clarify, With my humble pranaams at your lotus feer, Balakrishna Abburi < b_abburi >
Guest guest
Priya SRiman Balakrishnaj Jai Srimannarayana! We are sure that you have performed the Parayana on Bheeshma Ekadasi day with good spiritual fervour. This day is renowned for the ultimate journey of the Great Grandsire of Kurus Bhishmacharya. He attained moksham after giving this sthothram to Pandavas. He gave this sthothram to his grand-children as a divine wealth, he procured for them since a long time. Now a days, our people are procuring money in different forms and handing over it to their children, who may not even know how to use it. Ultimately those children push the parents out of the house and might at times put them in old-age-homes for safe custody. STill, we do so, out of love and concern we have for our children. Sri Bhishmacharya on the other hand, handed over the divine sthothram, to his grand-children also, as if it was the only wealth, he acqauired and could donateto them and thus to the whole world at large. In fact, because of this sthothram only, he became, Great Vedic and more powerful, so that he can stop even the God of Death and Lord Krishna also. =chinnajeeyar=
