Guest guest
Priya Sriman Sravan! Jai Srimannarayana! You are right. Till recent times, thie educated Indian or West in general, was kept in dark about Visishtadwaitha. They know only Adwaitha books in English. So whatevet they know, that is all they speak about.! Now, recently a lot of literature started appearing in English and other languages also about Visishtadwaitham. Even western scholars, who come here to make a research and write books, they approach very a few people, who are well spoken off personalities, stay with them for some time, learn something they teach and start writing their own books about what they learnt. They meet only adwaitha scholars, because, many people who go to West are belonging to that school only and thus they became famous and approachable to the West. After observing the Visishtadwaitha works, even those westerners are appreciating the inner depth. It is not the fault of others. It is because of our own scholars who paid least attention towards our scriptures, in allowing them to reach common mans' hand. At the same time our people were so narrow minded in confining the philosophy to only regional languages like tamil. They hardly allowed it to reach the common mans hand through English etc. This opinion may not be accepted by many traditional minded people. Yet, it is true. Even our own people do not know the difference between Vaishnavism & Visishtadwaitham. The philosophy is caged and kept behind the bars of temples. The So-called pravarthakacharyas or protectors of Sampradaya have satisfied and confirmed that if "some prabandham is chanted and thirtham & prasadams are served to acharyapurushas(even if they do not know anything, or even if they are against to Sampradaya also) and then to the devotees", that is all protecting the Sampradayam. If someone is really concerned about the practical philosophy, it is Visishtadwaitham only. It does not mean that other schools of thought are wrong. Every school has a role to play in this society, for, the ideas and understanding ability of people differ, from person to person. Each school, helps in satisfying different levels of people. Understand this and also try to collect available books and first, start reading by yourself. Then we can inform to others. =chinnajeeyar= sravanme@r... [sravanme@r...] Sunday, February 17, 2002 12:07 AM com [COMMITTEE] contention to Advaita Respected Swamiji, So many people, those belong to advaita used to argue that their concept is universally accepted where Visishtadvita is not like that and it is also absurd. I also observed that when ever scholors deliver their seminars or holy speeches, they always refer SankaraCharya, not Ramanuja Charya. What is the cause of the well establishment of this Advaita than Visishtadvita? I request u to explain this briefly. ThanQ Yours most obediently, Vedala.Ramanuja Shravan Kumar. Sravan Kumar Vedala
