Om Asmad Gurubhyo Namaha!

Sree Hayagriva parabhramhane Namaha!

Sreemathe Ramanujaya Namaha!

Vishe:sha:rdham (Sloka 1)

This sloka is Kulasekhara's 'pra:rthana' sloka. The

composer of this Mukundama:la was a great king. He led

a life filled with devotion. He had a desire to go to

SriRangam along with all his subjects.

He used to make announcement of the journey, but just

before the commencement of the travel ,' Bha:gavatha:s '

(pilgrims) used to come to his kingdom. The king's

hospitality towards the pilgrims was so great that it

made him postpone the travel to SriRangam to the next

day. And in this manner announcements of his 'Sri Ranga

Yathra' were made everyday in the city . To such king I

postrate!!

This exemplifies how great his 'Bha:gawatha Bhakthi'

was! Instead of having only 'bhagawath bhakthi', having

'Bha:gawatha Bhakthi' implies having both 'bhagawath'

and 'bha:gawath bhakthi'. Hence 'bha:gawatha bhaktha:s'

are superior to 'bhagawath bhakthas'.

One should pray to Kulasekhara Alwar to attain that stage.

JaiSreemannarayana!
