Guest guest
Jai Srimannarayana! Sriman Maha Bharatha, is called as 5th Veda. Because, all the Loukika Dharmas and Vaidika Dharmas along with Raja Dharmas and Ni:thi Su:thras were also revealed in a lucid manner with all the practicle examples in the same story. It is the Ithiha:sa of the Human beings on this Earth. Veda cannot do this. It ordains a few things and that is all. Sri Vyasacharya felt unhappy not just because he wrote Maha Bharatham, but, he wrote all the pura:na:s, describing the different activities of different gods, at times praising them as Real Gods and so on. He felt very sorry later. Maha Bharatha was presented by him as a historic record. He never felt sorry for writing that.It was the great elaboration of all the Dharmas. Even the essence of all the Upanishads also was there in different part like in Sri Vishnu Sahasranama sthothram. =chinnajeeyar= --- Rajagopalan Narayan <rajagopalannarayan wrote: > dear bhagavathas, namonarayanaya. several swamins > have informed that the mahabaratha is the fifth > veda. may i know why ?what is taught in this that is > not present in the fourvedas?are there upanishads > attached to this fifthveda? in several > upanyasams i have heard that vyasa was very unhappy > after composing the baratha(can this happenif > baratha is rthe fifth veda) and he was advised to > compose srimadbagavatham.he did and was > composed.srinarayana desikaya namah.dasn > > > > > Health - your guide to health and wellness Health - your guide to health and wellness http://health.
