Guest guest
H H Sri ChinnaJeeyar Swamiji, My Padavandanams to you. Respected Swamiji kindly please tell me about these things: 1) I was watching the Ramanujacharya serial. Its very very nice but too short just 20-22mins including ads, well in that i have seen that all the alvars and even the pujaris have namas(if i am calling it correctly) all over thier body hands neck stomach but only the one on the head has a padam. Why?What is the significance of this namas is it any ritual or does it have any medical reason. 2).I have heard about ghana pathi who are they.Is there any story which can be written and remebered. Please tell me about it. 3).I dont know where but i heard this shloka "Saame vasathu jhi:va:ghre" Please clarify. I have many more to ask but i remeber nly this much now.YOur calendar shows that you are alwaays busy. Please swamiji please take good care of yourself.WE need you the world needs you.Vaishnava matham needs you. Guest guest
Priya Sriman Srinivasji! Jai Srimannarayana! WE have received you mail, but we could not reply to you because we were in trip to Manas Sarovar for 15 days and before that we are in preparation to Githajyothi etc., Even now we are in tour to Mauritius for a week days. We are happy for your curiousity to know more about the samprada:yam. We are replying to your questions in brief. You have asked about the "pa:dam" to the Na:mam on the fore-head. In other 11 places wherever they put na:mam., padam will not be there except on the face. The rule to the Na:mam on the fore head is, to put it right from the "na:sika:gram" viz. the end of the nose. Some people thought that the end will be at the tip of the nose, so some peole wear the na:mam upto the tip. And their pa:dam will be appearing as too a longer one. Mainly we can see such namam with Thirunarayna perumal. Some devotees also were like that. Some other devotees decided that the 'agra" will be the middle part of the eyes. They took it granted to end the padam there itself. You can hardly find pa:dam with such na:mam. But great acharyas decided that they very form of the nose based on the ending part of the bone, which ends in the middle portion of the visible nose, so padam should appear till there. that is why na:mam on the fore-head will appear with pa:dam. For other places that 'na:sika:gra' problem does not exist. They appear in flat. 2. A Ghanapatthi, means one who mastered in some subject. Literally speaking, a person, who studied Vedic text. Then finished the pada-pattham. Also learned krama-pattham. Here splitting the text by individual words is padam. Re-joining each word 3 times makes kramam. Where each word repeated and netted with other words 13 times, that becomes one Ghanapattham. It is a nice exercise, of course. 3. About your 3rd question, we do not know where did you hear the slo:ka and in what context. Let your rememberance be active always. =chinnajeeyar= Qs: Namams, Ghana Paathi and some slokas 1) I was watching the Ramanujacharya serial.
