The 20th sloka of Gita Chapter Two says that > atmas are neither created nor can they be destroyed >(Na Ja:yathe: Mriyathe: ). I agree with you that Athma's can nbot be created or destroyed. I am not learned like you. However, I beleive that Athmas originally originated from the Supreme Lord Sriman Narayana. Please kindly refer to the Purusha Suktham: "Thripada-urdvaipurusha (three fourth is Parama purusha), pado-asya vishva bhuthani (one fourth constitutes the creation: universes, beings, etc.) ThripadasyaAmruthandhini (The three fourth is eternal unchaging)" The three fourth constitutes the Supreme Being Lord Sriman Narayana. The one fourth is either changing or transmigrating. To illustrate the concept, Purusha suktham states three fourth and one fourth. Actually, the materail manifestation is only a minute part of Him. We Athmas are separate from the Supreme and Yet we are part of Him. I beleive this is Vishistadvaitha philosophy. Your concept that Atmas are eternally seperate and distinct is DWAITHA Philosophy. > >>>> who are tired of this want to go back to the > parmanent abode(Nithya Vibhoothi) > I believe that our acharyas say - only the most, > most ...luckiest would attain that permanent abode >that tooNOT by their penance or knowledge or >greatness, but just by the sheer mercy of Lord and > acharya who does purushakara to get us in there. > (Paramapadam is not an option for the tired souls) If you read my posting carefully, I said that the only way is to do saranagathi (take shelter at the lotus feet of Lord Sriman Narayana). You say that Paramapadam is not an option for the tired soul. Crying is the duty of the baby. It is up to the mother to hold the baby or not. The means and the end are the Lord. However, people who are fed up with the material world, cry for the Lord. Seeking Lord is an option which eventually may lead to Paramapadam. As I mentioned in my posting, the Atma is not independent and completely depend on the Supreme Lord. With respect to attaining Moksham, kindly refere to the charam slokam of Lord Sri Varaha Swami. Can I ask you why the dharma, artha, kama, koksha are called the purusharthas and why is Moksha included in that. When you visit Lord Venakteswara's temple kindly observe the left and and right hands of Lord Srivenkateswara and please kindly find out the meaning behind pointing of the two hands one at His lotus feet and one at His navel. I can continue on and on, but like to get your input. I will appriciate it if you could kindly answer Vasavins' question in the previous postings. Jai Sriman Narayana With all glories to Lord Sri Venkateswara, I remain, Sincerely Narender Reddy
