Guest guest
Sreemathe Ramanujaya Namaha Submitted to the Holy Feet of my Acharya H H TRIDANDI SRIMANNARAYANA RAMANUJA JEER SWAMI. ========================================= Thirukkolurammal Varthaigal - Story2 ======================================== 2: I did not give my heart like Vidhura ======================================== Sri Vidhura was a brother and minister for Kaurava king Dhidrarashtra. But he was very wise in his dharmic ways. He had given up his ego, (me and myself ) a long time ago. He loved Sri Krishna whole heartedly. It is rare to see a character like him in Mahabharata, pure and gentle other than Dharmaputra the eldest of Pandavas.Though Bhishma (affectionately called Pitamaha), and Acharya Dhrona were fond of Pandavas for their good nature, courage and their friendship with Krishna, because of their misplaced loyalties and confused state of mind they showed partiality to Dhuryodhana, the oldest of Kauravas and the evil king of Asthinapura. Hence the elders were considered enemies of pandavas. But Vidhura in spite of lot of hatred from his brother and nephews he was steadfast in his loyalties, towards truth and dharma. On the other hand unlike Kauravas, the Pandavas had only one thought "SRI KRISHNA IS OUR PROTECTOR, TEACHER,AND FRIEND" Vidhura on the otherhand, though he was a minister for Kauravas he was indirectly supporting Pandavas and was very happy about the fact that Sri Krishna was on Pandava's side. After Pandavas lost their kingdom in gambling to Kauravas, according to terms they went and stayed in forest for 13 years. When they returned after vanavasam Dhuryodhana refused to keep his word and didn't give even a small village. In this situation Sri Krishna went as an Ambassador to Asthinapura to keep peace and show the right path to Kauravas.Because the Kauravas were following evil ways, and not keeping their word Sri Krishna didn't want to be hosted by them. So he visited Vidhura's house who became ecstatic and speechless. His house was not a palace like his relatives, so with a lot of humbleness and humility but with great joy he invited Sri Krishna into his house and tried to make facilities fit for Sri Krishna's status. Then he addressed Krishna stating " Krishna, you have come to a poor man's home. My excitement is the only pooja I can do for you. "Thus he showed Krishna his abundant love and affection" Then Krishna went on to relish the simple food that was given to him with purity and selfless love. Krishna enjoyed everything more , because of Vidhura's unpretentious bhakthi. The food that was offered to Krishna was simple but it passed the barrier of cast, wealth quality, quantity and variety. By his action Vidhura showed that he had given his whole heart for SRI KRISHNA to reside, (where it is said that Krishna had taken residence). Thirukkolur Ammal is lamenting that she never had a chance to host Krishna like the blessed Vidhura. Moral of the Story: ================= "God comes to those with purity of heart, full of love and rich in bhakthi." So let us "with HIS Nirhetuka Kripa" develop full unconditional love. and eat anything only after offerring it to HIM.
