Doubt in RAmAyanam

Dear HH Sri Jeeyar Swamiji,

 

I have one doubt wrt the abduction of Sita

by Ravana as per Valmiki Ramayana. According

to Valimiki Ramayana,Ravana abducts Sita by

catching her hand. Sita is pure,chaste and

fire and anyone who touches fire will get

burnt(unless the other is also fire/water).

Does not Valmiki's interpretion violate the

chastity of Sita? On the other hand Kamban

(Kamba Ramayanam)pictures Ravana carrying the

entire hut because ravana can't touch her. I

love this version. Kamban defends SriRama's

each & every action and proves that He is

PuruSOththamA. But since Valmiki's is

considered authentic,I would like to know why

Valmiki wrote like that.
