Guest guest
Namo Narayana! I am writing from Saudi Arabia where I spend half my time and other half in Madras. I am a Tamil Iyengar. I am studying our scriptures so that I may get a correct idea about the philosphy and doctrine of our Dharma and work my way to Moksha. I have started with advaitin and with- Baghvat Kainkarya Roopam - Grace of Lord, will get to learn VishistAdwaitam also in the same way. I have a question for our community. If there is a member of the community and, he or she or they together, violate some basic human obligations, then what we as a community should do? It can be a) Keep quiet and behave as if we do not know b) Take note of it analyse and make rules for future, for approved communal behavior c) Intercept the problem and help find a solution amicably. The reason for this question is that I have just come to know about a Young Iyengar Girl landing up in Boston -USA this week on a dependent O3 Visa and her husbund refusing to meet her and provide for her. They were married in January this year in a week's notice and then she went with in-laws and the boy to Dubai. The boy left for US after a week and then she stayed with her in-laws in Dubai for 2 months. Then she went to Madras to pick up her Visa which she did. Her husbund is a MD and alsoa PHD in Nurology. She is a ME. How can such things happen in our educated middle-class community. What will happen to our society if these things continue? If any one wants to know the details or e-mails of the affected parties please send me a personal e-mail as I do not want to bother the whole list. But this question of difference between what we are learning as good and how the world works in real life, is troubling me and I hope to read your reactions. Pranams.
