Guest guest
I recently had my upanayanam. I am looking for yajur veda srivaishnava sandhya vandanam and other books on related practices like parishyajanam, pranayamam etc. I found a couple of books in Vijayawada on Yajur veda sandhyavandanam but they are the smartha style ones. Can you let me know where in US can I obtain/purchase some resources on Sri Vaishnava brahmachari practices and Daily routine (Dinacharya)? Guest guest
Dear Sri Vijay, While, ideally, it is best to learn Ve:dic rituals such as the sandhya vandanam directly from a teacher, copies of the sandhya vandanam are readily available on-line and in paper format. Here are a few options: *A cd-rom version of the sandhya vandanam in accordance with SriVaishnava samprada:yam has been published under the auspices of HH Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. You can order it directly from www.radioramanuja.com *A copy of the text with instructions is available in Telugu, Tamil, Sanskrit, and Transliterated text: http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/2627/ The site includes anna parise:shanam manras, as well, along with upa:karma and other related rituals. Please note that additions have been made to the basic text to reflect the practices of the followers of Sri Ahobila Mutham. *Finally, I have a copy of a rare, out-of-print version of the basic SriVaishnava sandhya vandanam that was written by the noted scholar, Sri S. Satyamurthy Ayyangar. The text is in Sanskrit with English transliteration and commentary. Please send me a personal e-mail, if interested, and I would be happy to mail you a copy. With regards to other SriVaishnava recitation, a CD of Pra:tas smarani:yam can also be ordered from Radio Ramanuja. At this time, I am not aware of an online or book version of the brahmachari ho:mam or other Ve:dic rituals that is available here in the US. Perhaps, others could provide their input on this. I hope this helps. adiyEn rAmAnuja dAsan Mohan Vijay Shilpiekandula wrote: > I recently had my upanayanam.
