Guest guest
Dear Murali, Thank you for your comment! Of course, the Supreme Being is the Supreme. No mixing up with the Devas. What is so beautiful is that the Supreme Being is being described by the WHOLE of the VEDAS. All phases, all aspects of this Supreme Divine Being are wonderfully reiterated and described in the Vedas and Vedic Literature - and not only that, all the miles stones on the pathless path to realization are recorded in the Vedic scriptures, too. So there are Vaishnava Puranas, then there are Shaiva Puranas and there are Ganesha P., Devi P., Upanishads, Yoga etc. etc. There are 18 Puranas, 18 Upa-Puranas, etc. etc. - all in all 40 aspects of Vedic Literature. All the facets of the Supreme Divine Intelligence are minutely dealt with. And still they DO NOT contradict each other. Hail Sanatan Dharm! If one thinks they contradict each other then ones consciousness is not total, not unbounded enough. And then one just continues on his chosen path - to reach the Supreme Universal Truth. Therefore, yes, it is very very important to hold steadfast to one´s chosen Deity (Devatta)!!! It is the most dear and near aspect of the Supreme Being. Vasudeva sarvam iti, anyway. So why bother to call Devas something else than they are - Devas. With best wishes, Shasa A.
