Guest guest
Sri RAmajayam srImathE rAmAnujAya namaha Dear BhagavathAs, Today is Adhi Uttiram(Karkataka - Uttarashada) TN (appearance day) of Swamy AlavandAr(other ThirunAmam-YAmunaithuraivar, YAmunAcharya). Swamy was born ca.976 AD(DhAtu Varsham) to Ishwara Muni(Son of NAthamunigal) and Ranganayaki Ammal. We can never repay our AchAryas for their PErupakAram(help) in helping/guiding/showing us the path to happiness on earth(JnAnam, AnushtAnam, VairAghyam) and eternal happiness (Moksham, Nitya Kaimkaryam), and it is only natural for us to speak in a Superlative sense about every Sri Vaishnava AchArya right from the PradamAcharya of the Divya Dhampathis to Asmad AchAryan. Each of these AchAryas have their Thirumudi Sammandham to their PoorvachArya and give their Thiruvadi Sammandham to their successor thus giving us an Avichinna Guru Parampara(unbroken AchArya lineage). In this Guru Parampara we constantly refer Sri RAmAnuja as Darsana SthApaka and refer Parama Vaidhika Matham of Sri Vaishnavam as Sri RAmAnuja Darsanam, owing to the establishment of the VEdic faith by Bhagavad RAmAnuja in a very turbulent phase of materialism, violence, intolerance and spiritual destruction(true to this day). However this happened entirely due to the Thiruvadi Sammandham of Swamy AlavandAr whose three wishes were delivered by EmperumAnAr Sri RAmAnuja. The works of Swamy Alavandar include, Siddhi Trayam(Atma, Samvit, Iswara Siddhi, which helped Sri RAmAnuja evolve the thought process for formulating Sri BhAshya), Geethartha Sangraha(base for Sri RAmAnuja's GitA BhAshyA), Agama PrAmAnyam(enabled Sri RAmanuja to expound PAncharAtra Agama), Maha Purusha Nirnayam(general basis for all Sri Vaishnavite works, incluing VEdartha Sangraham of Sri RAmAnuja), Sthothra Ratnam and Chatus SlOki. These are profound works, and it is AdiyEn's belief even if we associate ourself with a parama BhAgavathA familiar with Swamy AlavandArs works, it can cleanse us of a great deal of RajO/ThamO gunAs. On this sacred day let us make a resolve to associate ourself with the Parama Vaidhika Matham of Sri Vaishnavam, and take a gradual recourse into knowing our SampradAyam and live a fulfilling and happy life. Most Sri Vaiahnava Ashrams celebrate Swamy AlavandAr TN MahOtsavam today, with Veda, Prabandha PArayanam for the several days, dotted with other festivities AdiyEn Sri RAmAnuja DAsan, Sudarsana Dasosmi
