Guest guest
Respected Sri Vaishnava scholors, Asmad Gurubhyo Namaha: Sreemathe Narayanaya Namaha: I humbly disclose the questions which are there in my mind >From a few years without any answer. I humbly seek your Guidance and appropriate replies according to our sastras. As per Bhagavadgita all living beings are Athmaswaroopams irrespective of male or female or animals etc. In such case all have equal right to participate in worships, religious functions and take prasadam and Sree pada kumkum and haldi. Right? If unfortunately husband expires his wife is being stamped as WIDOW and thus prohibited to come forward to attend Auspicious functions, take kumkum, haldi etc. On tenth day after her husband passing away she will be forcibly made to remove all sowbhagya chihnams like bangles, Kumkum, haldi ,flowers etc which she has been wearing right from her birth, and not after marriage. First of all the sudden demise of her husband would have been a big blow to her, added to this, this type of torture or ill-treatment will make her think that she is an un-auspicious causing her to more agony and sorrow. Further she will not be allowed to attend functions as VARALAKSHMI VRATHAM AND SUCH POOJAS and even if she is invited she will not be offered kumkum and haldi along with sumangalis. Is this indifferent treatment is correct and supported by our sastras? Wonder is that in case of divorcee woman and a widow re-marriage, she is acquiring all lost facilities such as being offered kumkum and flowers at religious functions such things. How & why are they lost with the demise of her husband who played a temporary role in her life , and how they are re-acquired with marrying another person . If a thing is lost due to departure of a person how can it be acquired by the entry of another person, and for a divorcee if her ex-husband dies after taking divorce it is not affecting her in the involvement of any poojas and taking the Nirmalyam of god ?? But for the widows who don’t remarry and are loyal to One husband, the illtreatment of depriving her of all Auspicious things is in practice. Is it correct and Supported by our sastras? I came to know from Sri Jeeyar Swamiji’s Preachings about the meaning of Pranavam is that all are Athmaswaroopams and all belong to only Lord Sriman Narayana and Not anybody else. Then how the temporary existence of a person make his wife a sumangali when athma is always Permanent. In case of a widower after his wife’s death he is being treated as equal among his fellow men unlike a widow Woman. Is is it a curse only to woman? If so kindly Let me the reasons. I thing I have made my mail lengthy kindly excuse me I reemain seeking refuge at the lotus feet of asmad-guru Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji. JAI SRIMAN NARAYANA. Sudha Madhuri Ramanuja Dasi.
