Guest guest
Sri:mathe: Ramanuja:yanamaha! Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Saranam!! In great grief Sri Rama who could not perform even the final rites of his father, cremated Jata:yu. Since the falcon king had sacrificed his life for the sake of Bhagavan he felt it would be fit to perform ‘Brahma me:dha samska:ram’ for him and accordingly did so and blessed him with ‘utthama lo:ka:s’. Sri Rama elucidated to the world that living as a human being, considering himself only a human being, one would be empowered with the control and capacity to present ‘utthama loka:s’ with ‘satyava:k paripa:lana’ (truthfulness) and he proved it by presenting Jata:yu with ‘Utthama loka:s’ Later Ramachandra saw a ra:kshasa named Kabandha who was a horrifying and terrifying monster. He killed him and cremated his body as per his wish. Kabandha regained his previous celestial figure and went back to heaven. Kabandha told SriRama to visit Sabari who was aware of the intricacies of dharma, and was awaiting for ‘athitthi saparya’ (treating a guest with a high order of hospitality) He wanted Rama to notice her sublime virtue of ‘A:cha:rya abhima:na Nishta’. She had been practising the great dharma of ‘guru susru:sha’. Sri Rama went to her hermitage on his own to prove to the world that though one is born as a tribal if one serves the great devotees with high reverence, one would be fit to be worshipped by all. It is the height of Sri Ram a’s sousi:lyam. That ‘Maha:purusha’ had gone to visit a tribal woman. Not only that, he had been worshipped well by her. Sarabhanga and others were ‘thapo:nishta:s’. They too worshipped him but Sabari had ‘A:charya Bhakthi nishta’. She worshipped him very well. To tell us that she had worshipped him well Va:lmiki says: “Sabarya: pu:jithah samyak ra:mo: dasaradha:thmaja ha” Dasaratha’s son Rama had been very well venerated by Sabari. King Dasaratha got renowned cooks to prepare delicious dishes for SriRama and fed him. Sarabhanga and the rest knowing that he was ‘Parama purusha’ Himself worshipped him with more bhakthi and affection, Dasaratha’s was ‘sne:ham’(friendship) and Sarabhanga’s was ‘bhakthi’. But Sabari’s was pure love. To be continued……… Jai Srimannarayana!! Ramanujamma Mudumbai, Ramanujadasi.
