Guest guest
Srimathe: Ramanujaya Namaha | Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Saranam | Sabari never doubted, being a tribal woman, if she was eligible to worship SriRama. Her guru 'Mathangasishya', before leaving his body, instructed Sabari to worship SriRama who would come along with Lakshmana to the ashram. Her only qualification was following her a:charya:'s words. Right from that day onwards, she started plucking fruits to offer them to SriRamachandra. Some people think that she offered Him the same fruits she tasted. But it was not so. She *did not* offer SriRama the same fruits. If a few fruits from a tree, she sampled, turned out to be good, she understood that the taste of all other fruits, from that tree would definitely be sweet. Sabari might have stored such fruits from those particular trees. Due to her A:charya's power the fruits stayed fresh ever after. Being a true disciple of such a great guru, she believed him and waited for SriRama and was able to worship him whole heartedly and with pure love. She did not think of her eligibility and just wanted to fulfil her Guru's instruction. That's her love and dedication towards her a:charya. Hence the worship she offered to SriRamachandra became 'samyak pu:ja'. There is a beauty in this slo:ka pa:da. To be continued...
