Mumukshuppadi Sutra 30:

The first part of the Thirumanthra is praNavam.

 

Sri PBA Swami's commentary for Sutra 30:

Why does Sri Pillai Lokacharya say praNavam instead

of Om?

The manthra starting with Om has to be received as

an upadEsa from an acharya.
