Guest guest
Srimathe: Ramanujaya Namaha | Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Saranam | Sri Rama arrived at the banks of the Pampa lake accompanied by Lakshmana. That was a lake of lotus flowers. Its surroundings were beautiful. There vaanara, 'Hanuma', joined Sri Rama. There Valmiki says, "sangatho: va:nare:Na ha". We should realize that the presence of the exclamation -'ha!' - denotes some thing significant here. The garden there astounds in unrivaled beauty that soothes the lamenting hearts of estranged lovers. Sri Rama's courage was about to be shadowed by anguish. There is no greater moment of happiness than someone coming to unexpected rescue when one is about to be robbed especially in a remote dense forest. SriRamachandra was about to be robbed by the greatest of all dacoits from all the sides. At that moment Hanuma comes to rescue. If it were not for Hanuma what would have happened to SriRamachandra? To let us notice that Sri Rama's meeting with Hanuman there was such a happy & important occasion, Valmiki uses the exclamation 'ha'. How much ever grave a situation may be, Hanuma takes it on effortlessly. When Indra hit him with his weapon 'vajra' he fell on a boulder, his jaw (hanuvu) was dented and that became a symbol of his greatness and became "Hanuma". Hence by using the word 'Hanuma' it is made clear that the 'va:nara who could take on any adverse situation effortlessly' - was found by the capable Sri Rama. Not only that, the word Hanuma means one who is eloquent and 'vanara' indicates a 'jna:ni' who can take the position of an 'A:cha:rya'. So getting an a:char:rya who would enable the Ji:vas to attain Parama:thma would please Bhagava:n and this is denoted by the word "ha". To be continued...
