Guest guest
Sri:mathe: Ra:ma:nuja:ya namaha | Jeeyar Thiruvadigale: Saranam | SriRama joined Sugreeva as per Hanuman’s words. He was Sugreeva’s minister and the most efficient to be the mediator. He was the ambassador to join SriRama with Sitha. His words made Sugreeva's friendship with SriRama possible. Later SriRama informed Sugreeva the course of events that took place till then - the incident of Sitha’s abduction by Ravana:sura, his coming there in search of her and his intention of making friendship with Sugreeva. SriRama intimated him that the imminent action before them was to search for Sitha. After listening to Sri Rama, Sugreeva decided that he should help him in his endeavour and he should seek Rama’s help to eliminate his enemy and acquire his kingdom and get back his wife too. Sugreeva made friends with Rama with the fire-god as witness (agni sa:kshi). Making friendship with Guha, born in a tribal clan was the first step to Sri Rama’s ‘sousi:lyam’. Of course , though a tribal , he was a human being. Rama who did not take the ‘a:thithyam’ (hospitality) of Guha, accepted the hospitality of Sabari, a woman. It was the second step to Sri Rama’s sousi:lyam. Finally making friendship with Sugreeva with ‘agni sa:kshi’ , who did not even belong to the human species but a ‘thiryak’ is the last step to his ‘sousi:lyam’. Sugreeva was elated for his friendship with Rama and humbly and plainly related his problem of enmity with Va:li the hidden and the evident account. Rama listened to him and took an oath that he would exterminate Va:li. To be continued...
