Guest guest
Sri Krishna Parabrahmane Namaha! [This is the translation of Gita Jyothi Week No.32 {last week's} Sloka graced by our Sri Sri Sri Jeeyar Swami in Bhakthi Nivedana] If a devotee can arrange a ‘Subha:Srayam’ and install this in his mind (manas), then that subha:srayam would make the temple of our heart holy by burning all his papas like an ember that puts on fire all the dried sticks,. That’s why Bhagavan in the 12 chap of Gita says “Hey! Arjuna! You condition your heart as a temple and install Me there. There is no greater salvation than that.” This is God's oath. Manas (mind) and buddhi (intellect) are two tools. But among these two, buddhi is only useful to a:thma. Manas acts as the leader for the sense (indriya:s). These senses work with the body. The body craves for pleasures (vishaya:s) . The body, sense organs and the mind require strength if they want to work anytime. The mind and the senses have to be provided with jna:na by the soul for them to work.. The soul provides the jna:na through buddhi. The jnana when it gets the momentum through buddhi, it goes to the vishaya:s through manas. But this manas is wavering, by being on one thing one moment and on the other the next moment. It may come back to the earlier one again after wandering a lot. But this manas can never be still on a particular thing. It keeps wavering and wandering all the time. It looks as if this is it’s actual quality. But this buddhi tries to control the manas in several ways. Some times it may come under its control and some times it may not. It depends on the strength of the buddhi. Some times it takes the form of ‘prajna’. It some times acts as ‘mathi’ and sometimes as ‘buddhi’. Decisions taken at a moment is buddhi. Prajna means the buddhi that blossoms to become a ‘jyo:thi’ the light that shines all the time. Mathi is that - which would be the desired future. ‘If I do this work tomorrow what would happen? How would it be if I do it day after? What are the pros and cons of doing something at some time in future?” Thus it has the capacity to recognize the future prospects. But all these stages of buddhi are referred commonly as buddhi only. Jai Srimannarayana, adiyen ramanuja dasaha Vamsi Mudumbai
