Priya Sriman,

Here are my thoughts.....

The question as to what ONE should or shouldn't eat is purely a Personal choice,

but every choice has its own Perils, too! Question is Whether ONE wants to be

Part of this LIFECYCLE or NOT! Philosophically speaking, Killing is Evil, but

eating the Killed is Deliverance! The soul may not leave the body of the

Dead...Hence, it's the duty of the caretakers to consummate it in fire and air

and submerge the Asthikas(remains) in Jiva Nadis(Rivers) for Deliverance, so it

may acquire a next birth. If the soul is Delivered from its Earthy bonds and

attains Paramapadm or some other Lokam(world), then Good for that being! Coming

back to eating meat, the same principle applies...

Vegetariansim(eating of Shakas) contributes to a Person's Sathvik manas, as

well as contributing to Sathvik Progeny, as the Souls enter the body mostly

through what we eat or drink...the Shakas might give the soul a sathvik manas

while it resides in it. So we are talking about a Recycling process here.

Killing an Animal and leaving it is Wrong! But those who eat meat might be

delivering a being to a Human Life! But they are a part and parcel of the Earthy

ways of PERISHING AND PROCREATING! People who desire Deliverance from that cycle

tend to stay away from it and survive only on Shakas, which is the most sensible

way to do! It's all a choice of LifeStyle! But Vegetarianism is supreme!

Nothing can beat the qualities of such a Manas! "Beings who Desire Deliverance

are a PART of this Lifecycle but not a PARCEL of it."
