Sri Krishna ParabrahmaNe: namaha!

Not even a month passed after Sri krishna’s birth.

That day it was the birth star of Krishna , Rohini.

Yasoda devi planned to take her baby out for the first

time and celebrate. She, along with all the other

ladies performed mangalaabhishe:kam (auspicious bath)

for Krishna to the accompaniment of musical

instruments, songs and chanting of blessings by the

Brahmins. They all started to the banks of Yamuna in

their carts. Yasoda worshipped the brahmin priests

and served them a great feast and presented them with

clothes, garlands and cows. The baby was feeling

sleepy Yasoda tied a cradle under a cart and put him

to sleep there. She became busy attending and treating

all the guests. They were all enjoying at a distance

and became inattentive. She could not hear him cry.

One asura (demon) deputed by Kamsa to end Krishna

possessed the cart under which baby Krishna was

sleeping. The baby’s cries did not reach his mother’s

ears.

Krishna crying thus stretched his legs. His feet which

were like a packet of tender shoots touched the

cart. At once it turned upside down and broke into

bits. The asura who possessed the cart to put an end to

Krishna died. Yasoda and all the other gopikas came

running and were astonished and shocked to see the

cart lying in bits on the ground there. They could not

figure out how did it happen?

Jai srimannarayana!

O:m Haraye namah! O:m Haraye namah! O:m Haraye namah!
