Guest guest
Srimathe: Ramanujayanamaha! A:cha:rya Thiruvadigale Saranam!! This human body is formed from prakrithi that consists of the three componenents sathvam, rajas and thamas. Among these, sathvam gives rise to jna:na and radiance. The rajo:guna causes vacillation. Lethargy, sleep and lust are the result of thamo:guna. The chariot of human body is drawn by the horses called ‘indriyas’. They are drawn by the charioteer called ‘buddhi’ with the halter named ‘manas’. This human body is blessed to attain the Supreme Abode of Joy. If the charioteer called ‘buddhi’ is not competent, then the horses would pull the chariot towards the ‘vishayas’ (pleasures) and topple it. For the horses to walk in the correct path, the buddhi should have satthva guna and its rajas and thamas should be minimized and theyshould possess knowledge. Our elders have laid down a condition to chant one mantra to get that purity of mind. That is the Gayathri mantra. If this mantra is chanted the ‘dosha:s’ in the manas and buddhi would be eradicated. By this mantra the ‘Sarva Jagathka:rana’ the indweller of the Sungod, Lord Srimannarayana is meditated upon. He alone dwells in us and activates our buddhi. If we meditate on Him who stimulates our buddhi, then the rajas and the tamas which instigate the buddhi, manas and chittam to crave for the pleasures - will diminish. The satthva guna increases. With that our nature will become such that it would fecilitate us to attain our goal. For that we have to chant the Gayathri mantra. This Gayatri mantra has 24 letters. Valmiki had penned Sri Ramayana by grafting those 24 letters in twenty four thousand slokas of Sri Ramayana - as one letter for every thousand slokas. To be continued…… Jai Srimannarayana! Ramanujamma Mudumbai, Ramanujadasi.
