Guest guest
Sri Krishna Parabrahmane Namaha: [ This is the translation of Gita Jyothi Week No.33 Sloka graced by our Sri Sri Sri Tridandi Chinna Jeeyar Swami Varu in Bhakthi Nivedana] Why is there so much unrest in today's world ? Why is insecurity on the rise ? We have lost the ability to rejoice after seeing another person's greatness. With that increases a kind of despair; When we see someone else's glory, we are filled with a feeling of "amarsham". "amarsham" means - lack of endurance. That slowly converts into hate. With hate, increases the tendency to cause harm to others. Logic and reason are destroyed. One ends up doing something harmful, is hated by the world and ends up in a state of having to hide away from the world. That is, the sense of hatred that he created towards the world has forced him to hide away from the world. We should always remember this. Thats why if you see somebody's greatness or glory be happy. Strive to work hard and reach a similar position. But we should never despair and have a destructive mind when we look at somebody's well-being. If we can acheive that, in the journey of hapiness, its equivalent to taking five steps forward. This slokam requests such a behaviour and mentality. It also highlights: "Its ok if you are not doing any great help to the world - as long as you don't cause any harm. Be careful! that will be extremely destructive for you." Thats the reason Lord Krishna at the end said "yaSSacha me: priyaha" - even a person with such qualities will be liked by me. Bhagwan has given us 48 qualities in the 12th Chapter. He showers affection on people with such qualities. Such people became loved and respected by everyone else, they have become Alwars. They are receiving prayers in our temples. Even if we cant reach such great heights, atleast lets strive so that the world doesn't hate us. The world might not love us; aslong as they don't hate us, its a great accomplishment. Lets try and behave in such a manner, lets start ! Jai Srimannarayana, adiyen ramanuja dasaha Vamsi Mudumbai
